Fuck fuck fuckity fuck...

So, dh and I are trying for another baby. Quite exciting, but we haven't told anyone. So keep in mind that this is all that fills my mind and I can't let it out - which might explain the mindblowingly awful faux pas I made this afternoon.

I heard ndn, ahem, you know, this morning. In fact, I've heard them quite a lot recently. So this morning I got to thinking they are probably in a similar situation to us. Planning the next chapter, 'oh how fab if we had similar birth dates'.... etc etc. Ugh. Why can't I just think about normal, non random fantasy land things.

Fast forward to the school run this afternoon. We both pull up home at the same time and... ugh I can't believe it, it's like I watched it from outside my body.

"Hiya! How is it going? I heard you are trying for another."

What the fuckity fuck!?!?!

He looked at me funny and then I just said,

"Oh my god I can't believe I said that. Please ignore the crazy neighbour lady. Ha ha ha."

WIBU to put the house on the market on Monday and not leave the house again until it sells?

Haha!

That's one way to make them quite down.

They may have put their house on the market Monday! 😂

I'm thinking if I dye my hair pink and start to speak with an accent I might leave the house again sometime in June!

Just go round, blush and say "wrong neighbours, I just heard my neighbor was trying to adopt another and assumed it was you. Am I stupid and embarrassed!".

ToEmbarrassedToThinkStraight · 29/09/2017 21:14

Angelicinnocent Shock that's brilliant! That is so brilliant. I've been told in confidence about the adoption which would totally totally explain my weirdo retreat into the house after he looked at me funny!

Like as though I was scared I was telling someone else's secret! Oh my god - you are amazing!

Nope, just well practiced at putting my foot in it! Grin

Mayhemmumma · 30/09/2017 14:42

Nice get out! So long as you're not then letting on about an actual adoption secret, as that would be wrong and then both your NDN might avoid you.

ToEmbarrassedToThinkStraight · 30/09/2017 21:43

No I'm going to fumble and bumble about for the next while and then when they announce I'll explain myself and my faux faux pas then!

If they pull me before I'll tell them I had a brain fart and made I mistake but I can't explain it without breaking someone else confidence.
