Hi, another 'not AIBU'. I have recently acquired a fitbit type fitness watch, and it's absolutely brilliant, it's helping me lose weight and is all round wonderful. However, I was wondering how accurate the sleep tracker function on them is? I ask as I have been suffering with fatigue for months (could be years) and have never found a reason for it. I wore my watch to bed for the first time last night and after syncing it this morning it has revealed that of the 7hrs 53mins sleep I got last night, only 43 minutes of that was deep sleep, and 2hrs of light sleep, the rest was something called wakeful sleep Confused
What does this mean? And is there anything I can do to change it if it turns out to be an every night thing??

Mine has always been pretty accurate - the only blip on mine goes the other way. (If I wake, hit snooze and go straight back to sleep it doesn't register I was awake at all).
Mine would usually have the odd 2-5 mins wakeful sleep, usually 4 or 5 times in a 7 hour period.

It could just be a blip on yours, but if you're regularly sleeping 7+ hours and still fatigued, maybe sleep quality is the problem? (Note - I have no expertise at all in these things!)

As for what you can do, maybe look first for anything obvious that might interfere with your sleep, like lights, noise, discomfort etc. If not, perhaps speak to your GP?

Have you read the info on what you should be getting? It is normal for most of your sleep to be light. Proper deep sleep wouldn't be much more than an hour or two so you aren't far off the bottom level of that. REM sleep would be a bit more than that.
