"Pantyliners"?!

Wtf - Panties?

Who says that? What is that?

Something American teenagers and coy older ladies say?

OP posts:
FridgeCut · 27/09/2017 23:10

I call them knicker wafers.

phoolani · 27/09/2017 23:11

I always say pantliners if that helps? Not that I say it often.

Fresh8008 · 27/09/2017 23:12

what do you want to call them. G-String decoration?

4sausages · 27/09/2017 23:13

Why not? I wear pants. These things line them. Pantyliners slides off the tongue just that little bit easier than pantliners. Who cares?
YABU

Titsywoo · 27/09/2017 23:14

I call them sanitary towels

Sandsunsea · 27/09/2017 23:15

Fanny pads.

4sausages · 27/09/2017 23:15

Do American teenagers really call them that considering that in America "pants" means English trousers?

PollyFlint · 27/09/2017 23:15

The word 'panties' is so prissy and twee and American. So sickly. So I'm with you on this. I just call them liners if I have to refer to them, although it's not something that ever really comes up in conversation anyway really.

I also never use 'pants' for women's underwear - to me it just sounds so jolly-hockey-sticks, middle-class PE teacherish. I always say knickers.

PollyFlint · 27/09/2017 23:17

In America, pants = trousers, underpants or shorts = pants and panties = knickers. So yes, women in America do say panties. Tights in America are called pantyhose.

Winosaurus · 27/09/2017 23:18

Knicker wafers 😂 I just woke my toddler up laughing at that!

phoolani · 27/09/2017 23:19

I think pantliners are different to sanitary towels though.

4sausages · 27/09/2017 23:21

ok polly. you got me there. still think it's a bit of a crap thing to worry about tho!

Pantyliners here I'm afraid. They are different to sanitary towels.

PaperdollCartoon · 27/09/2017 23:25

Meh, pantyliners is fine. Names for things often don't make sense. Pantsliners sounds wierd.

nancy75 · 27/09/2017 23:27

I don't think I've ever called them anything, who ever actually talks about pantyliners?

DJBaggySmalls · 27/09/2017 23:29

What are we supposed to call them though? Knicker stickers? Sanpro is different from liners.

Theresnonamesleft · 27/09/2017 23:31

What do you prefer then?
Pantliners
Knickerstickers
Fannypads
Knickerliners
PeeAbsorbers
Dischargeabsorber
NatureslubeAbsorber

LolaTheDarkdestroyer · 27/09/2017 23:31

Fanny pads here too.

elQuintoConyo · 27/09/2017 23:32

Pads.
Knicker stickers.
Fany pads.
Fairy hammocks.

I quite like the pp knicker wafers. I shall add that to my list.

Anything with the word 'panty' in it makes my ears vomit.

SeaToSki · 27/09/2017 23:32

I live in the US and just cant say panties, here grown women use the word and it just makes me cringe. Since I cant say pants without everyone completely misunderstanding me and my dcs, we have compromised on using the term underwear, which covers both sexes and all varieties.

maggiecate · 27/09/2017 23:32

gusset guards?

SabineUndine · 27/09/2017 23:33

'Panties' sounds Page 3 to me.

NextIndia · 27/09/2017 23:33

My DC call them wookie stickers.

IhaveapenIhavepineapple · 27/09/2017 23:34

I'll never forget someone on here calling them knicker stickers, can't remember who it was though grin

Aye I liked that Grin
