Sorry this is not an aibu but for some reason my phone won't let me select anything else!

Could somebody please give me a brief over view of what happens in season 7 of walking dead, I've seen the first couple of episodes and to be honest I can't be bothered to watch it all!

I seem to have a bit of a love/hate with twd at the moment, It just seems to be the same thing over and over, walkers, find a safe place, safe place isn't safe anymore, big baddie, fight where some die, find another safe place! I get that that's sort of the point when they're trying to get the world back on track and stuff, I just watched season 6 though and I just can't face another series at the minute!

I want to watch the next series when it comes out but j just can't bring myself to sit through season 7 at the minute!

So as brief as you like, as many spoilers as possible would be greatly appreciated! Thank you 😊

What happened to those weird junkyard people? Are they part of the war too?

They were secretly in league with Negan to double-cross Rick & his lot

Gladys123 · 28/09/2017 06:43

Fun fact: the junkyard boss lady used to be in a programme on cbbc. She was the baddy then too. Didn't talk lime a dipshit though.

Gladys123 · 28/09/2017 06:45

Nick on ftwd worked out the civering yourself in guts thing very early on. And seemed to enjoy it a liitle too much if I'm honest. Everyone on ftwd is so.much more badass than rick and co.

LiveLifeWithPassion · 28/09/2017 06:47

Oh yes! Thanks. I remember now.
Junkyard boss has done well for herself!

eurochick · 28/09/2017 07:08

I thought season 7 was brilliant. The first Negan episode where he has them all lined up on their knees was so hard to watch!

The only bit I didn't like was the junkyard people. That just didn't seem to fit with everything else in TWD world.

Thegirlinthefireplace · 28/09/2017 17:33

To be fair Gladys, Rick and co first do the covering themselves in guts thing in episode two, escaping the store in Atlanta.

Willow2017 · 28/09/2017 18:41

I loved season 7 curently rewatching it.

I like the peeling back the layers of the characters. Delving into what the whole experience so far has done to them and how they are coping with it. Carols breakdown and retreat then re-emergence.

Loved Andrew L's portrayal of a man who has been stripped of everything he thought he had and dropped at the bottom of the pile, humiliated and had his friends executed in front of him over his belief in the groups invincibility and now their fight back.

And Morgans battle with his 'every life is precious' and 'everyone can come back' beliefs and the fact that he has to concede that they have to fight to survive as some people are beyond redemption.

Waiting for next month and hope those junkyard people get their come-uppance, especially that bitch leader.

And I luffs Negan, love his whole 'performance', his "I am so REASONABLE/a sociopath" split personality.

Cookiesandcake · 28/09/2017 19:11

I hated the junk yard people they're ridiculous. I feel like they could have done a lot more with the village of women. I love the show but I spent most of the series yelling at rick to grow some balls and sort negan out. Negans a good villain much better than the governor. Also I really hope Eugene isn't actually on negans side, because I didn't like him as a character at first but he's grown on me now so I don't want him to be a bad guy

Cookiesandcake · 28/09/2017 19:12

Also had the easy street song stuck in my head for weeks

Thats true Thegirlinthefireplace maybe they don't bother covering themselves in guts anymore because the main threat now is people not walkers. Also its rank 😝

Gladys123 · 28/09/2017 19:49

That first episode of s7 was so scary and intense. Made me realise just how invested in these characters i am.

VeryCunningStunt · 28/09/2017 21:16

My imagining of JDM on first reading the script: 'So, Joe Pesci nailed being a sociopath by flipping between being jovial and being menacing, so I'll just do that too. While rocking back on my heels like a Weeble. There, that's the character work done.'

MrsPinkCock · 28/09/2017 21:25

I still have Easy Street as my current ringtone Grin

The first few seasons of TWD were definitely the best, but the eye candy that is Negan certainly makes me keep watching Blush

DonttouchthatLarry · 28/09/2017 21:43

Oh thanks a lot for the 'Easy Street' earworm! Angry Took weeks to get rid of that last time.

I love Negan - reminds me a bit of Dr Cox in Scrubs.

I can't wait for season 8 Grin

eurochick · 28/09/2017 21:51

My husband downloaded Easy Street. He plays it to drive me crazy!

LiveLifeWithPassion · 28/09/2017 22:10

Negan is a fab villain. I have huge expectations for his downfall in series 8.
It's the one thing that's keeping me interested still.

Sunnysidegold · 28/09/2017 22:30

Negan is amazing! My phone wants to call him Megan though which makes him seems much less frightening.

First couple of episodes were great. Ricks character arc has been interesting when you compare it from series 1.

Now humming ....easy street. Did anyone watch lost? Remember in Desmond's bunker he woke up every day to that other earworm!

Osirus · 28/09/2017 23:55

You need to watch the last episode at least, it was great.

Thanks for that annoying song!!!

Willow2017 · 29/09/2017 00:17

I still have Easy Street as my current ringtone

I had the Saviours 'whistling' as mine but it freaked out the kids so had to change it to the theme tune. Smile

DonttouchthatLarry · 30/09/2017 21:18

Oh yes Sunnysidegold I remember that one too.

iklboo · 13/10/2017 16:38

We've just seen the Jesus & Carl in the truck bogging off to The Saviours but it's such slooooooooooow going.

What episodes can we safely miss and which do we NEED to watch before we start the next season?

flumposie · 13/10/2017 17:17

I only got into TWD this summer. Binged watched seasons 1 to 7 over 3 months. I can't wait to be watching it as it airs. I wish Daryl would go back to having smart arse/sarcastic comments like he did in seasons 1-4. Just grunts now. Are we supposed to not notice his hair went from blonde to brown ? 🤣

jaseyraex · 13/10/2017 17:19

TBH iklboo, you could get away with only watching the last episode. Read the episode guide for season 7 on Wikipedia to get up to speed then watch the last episode to know what you're in for. A couple of people get captured by Negan,
couple of them try to kill Negan, Carol is being her usual boring self, The Scavengers turn against Rick... Nothing of great importance happens all season in my opinion, it's all the same and soooo slow. Even the last episode isn't wonderful but gives you that idea of all the action we're (hopefully!) going to see in season 8.

iklboo · 13/10/2017 18:01

Thanks Jasey - we were getting bored of meh-pisodes that were more Dawson's Creek With The Dead than previous seasons.
