Are deals from deal sites really worth it

I have used them for all sorts, family photo shoot package deals, selfie sticks, £1 photo printing (with £2.99 delivery), power banks, thick furry blankets, flipflops, pamper package for 2 with unlimited champagne (that turned out to be 2 glasses) and pedicure (that turned out to be just toe nails painting). The family photo shoot was the absolute worst. i feel like i never get what i want. Either the products break after a few uses or the services are so unsatisfactory. Have I just been unlucky or are these deals just scams.

You do have to read the small print. If one said unlimited champagne and was then limited then I would complain. And mention trading standards.

I'm not in the UK but use them mostly for experiences - meals out etc. I've only had one bad experience and that was for a facial. The nights away at hotels are a bit hit and miss, but I think generally you get less for your money here in hotels than you do in the UK so it's a bit hard to judge. My manicure was a proper manicure. The all you can eat sushi was delicious and we will go again and happily pay full price. I dont think the physical goods and gadgets are necessarily cheaper there than other places.

I think a good tip is to see if the deal is limited - only 50 available or whatever then it represents a real saving. If not, then it's probably not a great deal. Also remember that a lot og places offer them when they are starting up to try and attract customers, so they might not have everything down to a fine art yet.

I have a friend who will only use a Wowcher or a Groupon for hair and she looks amazing. Mind you she's having to travel further afield these days as shes exhaused local salons. But if you're getting £140 quids worth of cut and colour for £40 quid, you can afford the car parking!

I suse them for meals, it can be a restricted menu though

I think they're fine but I do check out reviews before I buy things like meals out, haircuts etc. If it said unlimited champagne or a pedicure and you don't get it, I'd be complaining there and then

I used Groupon once for a meal out. It was at a decent restaurant I'd been to a few times before, but we had to order from a special deal menu and the food was really poor. It wasn't worth what we paid.

Cheap hotel deals can sometimes work out ok but often you get given a tiny unmodernised room in the attic. So even if the reviews are good it's not really the same experience. I would try to find a good deal on a proper booking site where it specifies exactly what room you are booking.
