Shrinking Jaffa Cakes!!

McTitties are reducing the number of Jaffa Cakes from 12 to 10 - that's TEN - in a packet. This is an outrage. I'd boycott them but they're just too.... nom nom.... only 10 in a pack? Not enough to share. Get your own.

Brexit? I blame the vegans

youngestisapsycho · 28/09/2017 13:44

But why are they reducing them? Will they be the same price... why not leave 12 in there and just put the price up a bit? I'm all confused....

Oakmaiden · 28/09/2017 20:40

10 is 2 times 5 so can still eat them in 2s

Why on Earth would you eat them in 2s?

BusterGonad · 28/09/2017 20:55

How much do they cost in poundland? 😂

BusterGonad · 28/09/2017 20:56

£1.29 on the nose!!! 😂

Chattymummyhere · 28/09/2017 20:59

They have got very soft no crisp chocolate anymore. I've tried other brands but none are the same.

SunSeaAndSangria · 28/09/2017 21:00

Are they a biscuit or a cake???

Fekko · 28/09/2017 21:00

I like the m&s ones. They are rectangle and beautifully thin. I can eat a whole pack in one sitting (if DH or ds don't see/hear me).

TheThickenPlots · 28/09/2017 21:03

Not a problem since I discovered m&s Jaffa cakes are much nicer Grin

BusterGonad · 28/09/2017 21:22

Lidls and Aldi are the best as the Orange bit is soft and sticky rather than flat jelly!

VanillaSugar · 28/09/2017 21:34

That's great - in my town Lidl, Aldi and M&S are all on the same street, roughly a packet of jaffa cakes' walk apart!

The absolute best Jaffa cakes are Delicje ones. Available from Eastern European supermarkets or the Eastern European section of uk supermarkets.

BusterGonad · 28/09/2017 21:58

I like Cherry 'Jaffa' cakes! Does anyone remember the Pimm's 'Jaffa' cakes?

MuncheysMummy · 28/09/2017 22:05

Honest to god...Happy Shopper Jaffa cakes are the shit!! SO SO NICE way better than proper ones. Discovered when a happy shopper shop was next door to my work!

ForagingForFaerieGold · 29/09/2017 03:49

Are they a biscuit or a cake?

Ooh I know this one.
Cake. Cake goes hard when it's going stale, biscuits go soft.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 29/09/2017 08:14

I prefer lidl ones, especially when on offer.

ShatnersWig · 29/09/2017 08:29

I switched to Lidl ones years ago because the McVities ones were nowhere near as good as they used to be. Whether it was more cake and less jaffa, I don't know. And the cake tended to be firmer.

20 years ago this news would have been devastating. Now? Meh.

SoupDragon · 29/09/2017 09:45

How much do they cost in poundland?

I once had someone some which was cheaper, Poundland or the 99p store. They appeared to be serious Hmm

ShatnersWig · 29/09/2017 09:47

Just went to M&S as a result of this thread. Their jaffa cakes two boxes for £1.50. Scrummy. Lots of jaffa, nice soft cake. But 11 in a box. Odd number. Good job I never share.

koalab · 29/09/2017 09:53

Why would m&s think 11 is a sensible number? I might have to go there and check that is correct (and get some walnut whips while I'm at it Blush).

koalab · 29/09/2017 09:56

Oh and me and DP have a very strict rule in our house. If you buy a 'treat' you buy two lots. No sharing allowed. Mainly because I scoff the lot before he gets a look in. Once mine is gone I'm not allowed to touch his. It's not fair because I'm on maternity leave so at home staring at his treats a lot more. But I do get myself secret treats that live in DDs changing bag.

cottonwoolbrain · 29/09/2017 13:16

That's rubbish - sick of shrinkage.. next they'll be telling us that the packet contains less sugar than old ones (well thats bl**dy obvious it contains less jaffa cakes) and that they are new and improved... so the price will go up...

humph

quaqua · 01/10/2017 11:09

I prefer aldi jaffa cakes. The orangey bit is nicer.
