Photos of dc's in your bedroom??

We're decorating our bedroom at the moment. I met with some friends for lunch today and we got on to discussing all things DIY. The discussion turned to photos and a few of them said that although they have photos of their dcs all over their houses, bedrooms are child photo free zones. One joked 'as that's where the magic happens' Grin
They all seemed to agree with each other. Apart from me and one other who had never heard this "rule" before. Is this the done thing in your house?

No, he genuinely didn't see the problem Confused It didn't help that it was a very stiff/posed photo of her in a full black abaya, glaring at the camera... it was like she could see us and was furious! Grin

Oh deardaisythat sounds a bit grim to say the least. Surely he lay it down before dtd

Maybe he draped his pants over it first.

When you have 6 kids and 3 of them bringing partners home - yes ....

thesqueezedlemon · 26/09/2017 20:25

Surely you have better thing on your mind other than what pictures of people are in whichever room while your getting all “jiggy with it”.

And the magic is never restricted to the bedroom surely.

Mayhemmumma · 26/09/2017 20:28

I wouldn't mind but then we have sex in the rest of the house too....ive never looked at photos mid bonk.

Joeymaynardslimegreendress · 26/09/2017 20:29

I have photos of my kids, dils, grandchildren all in the bedroom and trust me the magic still happens.

The wierd thing for me would be to have eyes open and looking round the room during a good session.

After all if my eyes were open how could my dh be Idris Elba? Grin

Close your eyes and fantasise you weirdos

CakesRUs · 26/09/2017 20:29

Never even thought of it, I have photos in my bedroom.

thesqueezedlemon · 26/09/2017 20:30

Definately not. But surely the most frequent room of choice for most.

Of course it's always in the bedroom: lights off, winceyette nightie hoiked up and think of England - I'm no strumpet!

TakeAnadin · 26/09/2017 20:37

Surely that is how the children were made in the first place. AND.They are not ACTUALLY watching, they are photos.

Joeymaynardslimegreendress · 26/09/2017 20:40

I wouldn't risk it at Hogwarts though! Grin

Yowser · 26/09/2017 20:47

My friend's Dad used to have a massive copy of a photo he'd taken of my friend (his daughter) and another friend in matching bikinis lying in the surf on a holiday he'd taken them on when they were 13.

My friend had very big boobs at an early age and didn't look 13 in the picture. Her Dad was very proud of this and also had the picture on his desk at work - I know this because he used to tell us how other men at work had commented on it saying, "Wow, who's that?" and been amazed that it was his 13 year old daughter. Shock

Joeymaynardslimegreendress · 26/09/2017 20:49

yowser

Winteriscomingneedmorewood · 26/09/2017 20:51

Needed something!!

Gazelda · 26/09/2017 20:52

I've got a photo of my Nan in my bedroom. It's never occurred to me to be bothered by this.

GirlOnATrainToShite · 26/09/2017 20:53

Galzelda you will be tonight Grin

Ttbb · 26/09/2017 20:59

There is a rule about not putting too many family photographs in areas of your house where you entertain guests but nothing preventing you from having them in bedrooms.

rightnowimpissed · 26/09/2017 21:00

Joeymaynardslimegreendress
Omg totly lol ha ha ha

gillybeanz · 26/09/2017 21:12

Good grief yes, have kids photo's in your room, best contraception and divorce fodder there is Grin
No kids or kids photo's never in my room, some places like your sanctuary are not to be messed with.

BubblesBubblesBubbles · 26/09/2017 21:17

We only have 2 pics in our bedroom, both of them are wedding pics.

In the spare room however I have loads. But it's rarely slept in.

It's never crossed my mind the whole sex and kids pic thing.

thesqueezedlemon · 27/09/2017 00:27

Never heard of the photos in other areas of the house rule Ttbb care to elaborate?

Well thanks for your replies ladies. A mixed bag but atleast I know I'm not the only one -with a giant canvas of the dcs above the bed- Grin
