Hi!

A good friend of mine has recently moved into a flat with her DP - I am visiting their place on Saturday & had planned on getting wine/beer & new home gift.

Friend has now told me she is almost 6 weeks pregnant - should I get a gift for baby too? Obvs wine is out of the question now ha ha... but is it too early on to get a gift for baby? Friend is yet to see any doctors or anything

As far as I'm aware baby is very much unplanned but both parents to be are super happy...

If it makes any difference we are all only young (20/21) so I haven't come across this before!

Thank u Easter Smile

Way too early to get a gift for the baby. Wait until it's born. Flowers are perfect, chocolates if you want another option

I wouldn't take anything for the baby, it's way too early. I also wouldn't take any beer/wine, I'd take a nice non-alcoholic drink that you'll all be able to enjoy, and a general house-warming gift.

Save the baby presents for closer to the time!

No baby presents until baby arrives .
Flowers or something for the house is perfect

Flowers and some really nice ginger biscuits. Ginger is good for morning sickness btw, and she'll be hitting that stage soon.

You are a thoughtful friend. Agree, no baby gifts. Nice soft drinks, I love the Belvoir range, and flowers or a plant are ideal.

Love the ginger biscuit idea too

(Just in case its not obvious, which it would not have been to me at your age) people mean its too early because a lot of pregnancies are sadly lost before 12 weeks, so it is very early for them to have told anyone, even their families.

Can I suggest taking along some Seedlip gin? Discovered it recently at waitrose, and it's fantastic, non-alcoholic, and has a lot of spicy woody flavours. It's a unique gift, and perfect if she's craving a (m)ocktail once in a while!
