Sky Q - added here for traffic

Hi all

Wonder if anyone can help me.

Can't get through to sky as they have a training day in their number.

I currently have the full pack, phone, Broad band, box sets and tv pack with sports and movies and multi room in one room. I pay £116 a month.

First question, does anyone else pay less for the same package?

Second question, to upgrade to sky q has anyone done this and any idea what I can expect to pay or do you think I would be better cancelling and getting partner to join for sky q.

Thanks

Thought about getting Sky Q but hopelessly confused. We currently have the full Sky package, phone, broadband, Sky + multiroom. Broadband pathetic but everything else functions. If we upgrade to Sky Q do we need to change the router? Change to fibre? Don't have the mental strength to talk to Sky customer service.

We moved from Sky Q to Virgin in March and it's the biggest mistake we have ever made.

The quality of their so called HD is so poor and we have the new TiVo box. I can't wait until the contact ends to get back to Sky. Their picture is far superior as is their content, menues and all round package. I would rather we paid the extra £20 to them and be satisfied than stick with Virgin.

My husband works for sky-he says that you always get a better deal if you're a new customer so cancel and get hubby to put it in his name. We have sky Q and love it! Virgin was just getting ridiculous price wise! Although we get sky for free as part of husbands salary deal so not sure I'd bother with the whole shebang if not!

PurpleMinionMummy · 26/09/2017 18:13

We cancelled our sky as they wouldn't do any decent offers for us. Then they kept ringing every week to try and get us back.

Fishface77 · 26/09/2017 18:31

IVe cancelled and no fucker rang me back ever.
Offers were shit and as a new customer they offered me nowt.
Wanking wankers can keep their wanking boxes. (Not bitter)

I was ready to tell them to piss off when I saw it'd cost me more to have sky q than a new customer. They asked me what I wanted. I said I wanted to upgrade but without being penalised. They agreed! So now I have full sky q just minus sport for about £40 a month. Being with them 10 years may have helped my position though.

This is interesting.

I currently have multiroom and need the second box to be able to record without going into the main room to the 'central box' to do so.

They told me this wasn't possible, I couldn't set a programme to record through the mini box even if it saved to a different HDD. is this correct?

Amanduh · 26/09/2017 19:26

I pay £78 for everything.. but only weekend /eve calls.

Amanduh · 26/09/2017 19:28

Also whenever i've cancelled, when i've moved, each time within a month they offer me 50 then 60% off all tv packages to come back.

TheSnowFairy · 26/09/2017 19:28

op you are currently paying nearly £1400 per year Shock

Bumbumtaloo · 26/09/2017 19:34

BlueNeighbourhood if its Q you can record from any box, it then shows on all boxes.

Yogagirl123 · 26/09/2017 19:45

We have Sky Q, main box and two mini boxes, in each of the DC rooms. We didn't have to pay any extra, offered the upgrade and two mini boxes free of charge, we have the full sky package. The only issue I found are the random recordings, if sky push is selected which the engineer usually sets it too. At first I just thought perhaps the DC had recorded programmes, however, when I saw classical concerts were being recorded I knew it couldn't be any of us. If anyone else is having the issue, it is very common google it, you need to go into engineers settings and disable push services. It solved the issue for us.
