To ask about your baby's bedtime routine?

Please tell me about your baby's bedtime routine if they have one...
DD 4 weeks old - been told its never too soon to try and get her into a routine as it'll help her sleep through the night eventually.
She hates sleeping anywhere other than on, or directly next to, me and so I worry I'll struggle to get her down without me.

Why does everyone bath their children every night?
I bathed my baby in the sink in the morning as she had been in a wet nappy all night.Friends would be rushing around and I know some who would bath their kids very late at night if they had been out somewhere because it was their routine.Madness.

Dinner, quiet play, pyjamas, bottle, bed.

DD is 8 months. She has a bath à couple of times per week, usually straight after dinner. She's usually asleep by 7pm.

Routine helped my two and 10000000% helped them to sleep through - plus no 'sleep regression' because I sleep trained them properly from very young

From 8 weeks until until about 6 months both kids (6yo & 1yo) went to sleep at my bedtime (11pm - 9am) in the crib in my room
6 months own room (10pm-9am)
8 months (9pm-9am)
1 year (8pm-9am)

Routine is bath milk bed, no story (got them excited and wide awake)
I also made sure that they learnt how to self settle at a young age to avoid the rocking and singing shit people swear by nowadays.

for dd. get ourselves ready for bed get into bed. feed dd. (bottle of formula) hold her til she was finally asleep... try and sleep for an hour or possibly two before she was up for the next feed. feed sitting up in bed after nearly falling off the nursring chair one too many times.
