To ask a refund on glasses?

So on Saturday I went to a high street opticians (it was closed on Sunday). Had an eye test, when they asked about glasses I said yes I'd like to choose new ones.

So then I was led round the shop by two 'style advisors' who didn't listen to what I wanted and kept passing me the latest styles to try out. I managed to steer them more towards styles I like but they still didn't really listen. There was a lot of pressure from them. Then they settled on a choice of two styles which were ok but I wouldn't have chosen on my own.

After further flattery and pressure (apparently the style and colour I like No longer exists) I agreed to buy a pair. I was relieved to be out of the pressure (I know that's stupid of me). They took payment by credit card and gave no paperwork other than card receipt.

It was £300 For unknown brand glasses!! I know I was stupid but aibu to ask to cancel? They were closed yesterday so I doubt they've been made. I feel very silly and this wasn't my budget, flattery and hard sell took over my common sense. Website says no refunds though I bought in store

It's got to be worth kicking up a fuss about the pressure tactics, if nothing else.

Care to name and shame?

If it's spec savers you will get your money back.

There must be some kind of cooling off period or statutory rights...they may well be able to refuse but I don’t think you’re unreasonable to ask. I think they’ll probably say you shouldn’t have bought them but worth a try.

Not if you buy in a physical shop there isn't. Not unless the item is not fit for purpose.

I went to a high street place a few years back. I told them what I could afford to pay. Had the eye test, which I thought they had said was free, then, after mentioning budget again, was shown glasses. Got the glasses, was talked into donating old pair instead of keeping them as spares, was handed the bill. £125 over what I said I had to spend, and the eye test was not free...

Agree if it's specsavers they will refund you. They are generally very good at refunding.
