I'll try and upload the pitiful but obligatory diagram

Moved 2 weeks ago. Live in the end terrace of a row of traditional back to back style terraces. House on the left when we're in it is attached, left is detached.

We are the only house on our top quarter or so of the road with a drive, the road is crammed full of cars and really narrow, the bin lorry only just fits down the road.

As the road is so crammed that we park both our cars on the drive one in front of the other. For the last 2 nights some knob has parked his 4x4 so that half the front wheel and his bonnet is partially obscuring our drive, half the wheel is over the dropped curb. Doesn't seem like much but due to it being such a narrow and crammed street, the walls either side of the drive and the drive being only car width plus person wide it's near impossible to get out with it there without damaging either it or the car the other side of the drive (whether ours are forward or rear facing, makes no difference).

Due to a) being new and b) the large number of houses in small area we have no idea whose car it is. I leave for work at 6.45 tomorrow, in my car. If it's still there I can't get out. So I'm going to have to knock the neighbours up. That'll make me popular Confused.

AIBU to think you don't obscure ANY part of a dropped curb, and especially when a car is in the fucking drive?

Diagram- H = house, green is our dropped curb.A is an alley between 2 rows of terrace houses.

So 6.30am, car not moved. Did knock on a couple of doors to no avail, though next door kindly moved their car so I could mount the pavement edge to swing out, which I did after much backing and forwarding to get at the right angle. Not was then left on the car (pleasant but firm).

Still

Still no idea who the parking wanker is though.

Quite typical where I live for 4x4s to do what they like

Allthebestnamesareused · 25/09/2017 10:44

Note on windscreen time!

Allthebestnamesareused · 25/09/2017 10:45

Also print off this thread and tuck under the wiper so they can see they lose the argument on Mumsnet!

ItsNachoCheese · 25/09/2017 10:47

Get thee a big fuck off note pinned to the windscren

Babytoboris · 25/09/2017 10:55

Looks a bit like my street op. We have to park on the road, it works if everyone is considerate. Im considering setting up a local Facebook 'Parks like a twat' page where we can share photos of bad parking (yes looking at you Mr Range Rover driver).

Can you put notes through the neighbours doors and under the windscreen?

user1471443504 · 25/09/2017 11:06

Do you pull onto your drive or reverse onto it?
Reversing onto it will make it much simpler to get out.

manglethedangle · 25/09/2017 11:27

user I've tried both, and because of the direction I come and go from and the angle of the drive I find reversing out much easier!

A note was left under the windscreen.

Hope they take notice of the note.

Needadvicetoleave · 07/10/2017 20:44

They've taken notice of the note, and I've also clocked which house they live in. She's actually just a shit parker whether ever she parks, never straight, uses two spaces etc. The car is clearly bigger than she's comfortable with.

Ttbb · 07/10/2017 20:47

Just call a parking inspector

RandomMess · 07/10/2017 20:50

At least you know for next time!

ScissorBow · 07/10/2017 20:52

Do you think they're jealous of the driveway?
