Ok so I probably am, but please let me rant. Currently on holiday in Siciliy, I guess I had his picturesque idea of a beautiful holiday villa, lemon trees , strolling to the beach, romantic walks home from dinner. Instead i find myself in a depressingly small and dark villa, absolutely not a safe walking distance to beach or town as advertised. Town is pretty basic, beach ok, but having to drive everywhere is well driving me mad. The Italians are quite frankly the most frightening drivers I have ever come across. Twice melted down on car journies as it is so awful. And to make matters worse it's not like I am coming home to a relaxing picturesque villa. Oh all the towns we have visited so far are horrible, my little girl wants to go home as soon as we set foot back in the villa, I just want to strangle my husband and we can't eat a damn sandwich without being attached by wasps!!!! I just honestly want to bail!!!

Ha ha thanks! We have all been up since 4am thanks to a rather nosy thunderstorm!! Hmm. Have found a place in menfi we are thinking of moving to. It's a resort so more set up for children, so hopefully can find some other kids for DD to play with. Probably underestimated how much holidays change when you have kids, all our previous ones we have done with family or friends to date. This is the first one in 3 years we have done just us and I think we planned for us not DD in hindsight. Lesson definitely learnt!

I hope it improves. It does sound less than ideal at the moment.

I used to plan holidays like lalala what do I like?

Now it is military with list of necessary and sufficient characteristics.

DH: No self catering, needs beer.
Me: Can't be AI, must have culture and be interesting and not hurt the local people.
DD: Water (pool, lake, sea), other children and not too hot (approx 28 degrees max).
If my mum and dad and SIL and FIL are coming there's another whole list...
