Ds's nursery has been fantastic, he's SEN and come on so much, I've got craft stuff like pens, A3 coloured card, yogurt pots and stickers to donate to them, but I want to add a bit more in the run up to christmas.

If you could get one thing donated to the classroom, what would you want?

I know it negates the lovely surprise, but I would ask them! There might be something that they would really like that we might not think of, and they'll be absolutely delighted.

Glitter, we normally have hardly any left after doing Christmas crafts.

I suppose I should just ask them lol he started non verbal, non interactive, obsessive over the same thing, now hes somewhat verbal (still jabbers) sort of interactive and sometimes branches out to other things, its a complete change since he started in jan

Can so relate OP.

When my DS started at his nursery he was 3.5, barely verbal, in nappies sometimes still, eating 4 foods on rotation, ignoring all other kids. Severe echolalia, couldn't even answer what colour crayon he wanted to use.

Still there now at 5.5 (not in UK), a confident, friendly chatterbox that eats SCHOOL LUNCH INCLUDING BLOODY FISH AND CUCUMBERS, no echolalia, excellent behaviour record, interactive, back and forth conversations and he has friends Grin He answers questions in class that he could never have understood before.

He still has a bit of a way to go but I am in no doubt that this nursery is the best thing that ever happened to him. They have taught him so much.

I get the teachers presents every Xmas and end of year, but when he finally leaves next year I want to get them something for the school.I think I'll ask them though, as I don't know what's in the art cupboard 😊

Be very careful with glitter; I believe it is banned in some places. If it gets into the eye it can damage the cornea, which may become infected blah blah. I know it would spoil the surprise, but do ask what the teachers want or need - sorry, but if their Christmas crafts don't include yoghurt pots, they may not be as thrilled as you'd hoped.
