Help! Ceplac plaque tablets

Sweet God I have just cocked up. Bought some Ceplac plaque tablets as I thought it would be fun to help the kids clean their teeth properly. Fucked up there!

We all chewed one. The 6 year old is having a massive meltdown as it has stained round her mouth. Scrubbing, make up removal wipes, soap and more soap are having little affect.

My bathroom looks like something was slaughtered. In a fight. My kids are now sobbing while I beg someone for help on here!! How can I get this dye off???

Mouthwash. I use a Colgate one as it's the only thing to get the last of the tablets off my tongue.

It's plaque they are sticking to do you need something that shifts plaque.

Its sticking to everything! Its dyed my wall, my wooden tidy and my kids faces. I have smothered them in sudocrem now to relieve the soreness of scrubbing their little faces. Worst £1.99 ever!

We use those in school as part of a science lesson. The kids all think it's hilarious - teeth, tongue, lips all stained. By the end of the day it's all gone, not a trace, so don't panic. To speed things up, use toothpaste as it's essentially sticking to bacteria.

You just chew s tablet in your mouth, how is it up your wall and elsewhere?

DO3271 · 18/09/2017 20:50

You insert it into the mouth of a 6 and 8 year old. The 6 year old then has a paddy and starts messy crying thus spraying and dribbling it pretty much everywhere. Everywhere its touched its stained.

Top tip: hygienist told me to use a bit of food dye on cotton wool instead.

Apparently it comes off a lot quicker.

I am never doing this again. The sobbing has stopped finally. They have now nicked my bed. I hope they sleep... I really hope they don't have pink faces in the morning

When I was 12, I had the bright idea to use one of those tablets 5 mins before leaving for school in the morning Grin

I can still see the look on my mother's face when she saw me! That wasn't a fun day at school...

No advice from me, I'm afraid, as I've been too scared to use one since! Hope the mouthwash tip above does the trick.

We had a similar experience a few months ago. They are so messy! All was fine by the next morning.

DO3271 · 18/09/2017 21:12

They are asleep now. Urgh, why do these moments of me thinking it was a good idea never work out. Thought I was being a good mum there, teach the kids that 10 seconds of half hearted toothbrush chewing wasn't going to cut it.

One plus. I did it to and now have super shiney teeth Grin

I've used these on my kids periodically for years now as a spot check on their scrubbing standards. They're 9 & 10 years old now so we're probably 5&6 when we first used them and we never had that amount of mess. I bought a branded pack for around £4 and they were purple, not red, maybe they'd be better?
