I hate my vacuum cleaner! It's a Henry and today it tangled me up and I fell, it constantly flips over and basically annoys the hell out of me. I never want to use it again! Terrible machines.

Love our cordless Dyson, initially bought it to replace a small handheld one which we used for the car etc, but ended up giving our big corded vacuum cleaner away because we no longer needed it.

It's a Dyson V6, and set to max power it can clean an entire floor of a 4 bedroom detached house before conking out. On normal power it could probably do the whole house in one go.

OhGodWhatTheHellNow · 19/09/2017 14:22

I have a spench full of worthless vacs, one ok for the stairs, one ok for the upstairs landing (you see where I'm going with this...) I would give up my firstborn for one decent machine that did the lot, and didn't overheat halfway through (glares at melted Hoover and non-sucky sucky Dyson). I have a Miele which is ok. ish.

That Gtech ad pisses me off though, when it claims it's 40min life is enough 'to do the whole house twice' - where do they live, a bloody dolls house? I challenge them to do all of my less modest dwelling 9 bedrooms! I had a moment of madness when I thought living in Gormenghast would be a good idea in under two hours!

Disclaimer - I hoover in instalments, it all gets done eventually Grin

We just got a eufy...it's bloody amazing

I posted the other day for recommendations for a cordless, and bought a dyson V6.

TBH, I really wanted the V8 absolute but who the hell has £500 to spare to spend on a vacuum cleaner!

I also have a plug in but for the last three days have wizzed round with the cordless until it's run out each time (less than 10 mins) and the whole house feels a lot cleaner already.

It gets a proper clean every fortnight with a henry when the cleaner comes. I am happy with this in the inbetween!

I've gone for a cordless vax. Praying it won't drive me insane.

I have just had a brainwave and tried the new dyson cordless with a box of dyson allergies accessories I got free with a previous heavy awful dyson upright I ended up giving away.

They fit!

So I have all sorts of head accessories now for doing a mattress and soft furnishings.

Very happy.

ijustwannadance · 19/09/2017 14:38

The dyson filters are meant to be washed monthly to keep maximum efficiency/suction. It's a pain in the arse.

ElinoristhenewEnid · 19/09/2017 15:38

My dyson dc1(the original dyson produced) still going strong after 18 years!

Wishfulmakeupping · 19/09/2017 15:41

We've got a shark now I miss Henry felt more a hassle to hoover but did a proper job iyswim

FallingOrbit · 19/09/2017 15:55

I have a Henry, I think he goes on the piss when I'm not looking, he'd rather fall over than turn around when you yank his nozzle (he doesn't seem to like that) - but he is fairly quiet and never shat him self so he can stick around.

wowfudge · 19/09/2017 15:59

Get a Sebo. Brilliant. So good I am recommending it yet again on a thread. The carpets in our place have never looked so clean.

donajimena · 19/09/2017 16:03

I love Henry. Would still love a cordless to accompany him.

mrscee · 19/09/2017 16:17

Get yourself a Dyson v8 absolute it's fab. We use it as our main vacuum it so quick and easy to whip out if there is a crumb emergency

ineedwine99 · 19/09/2017 16:22

Love the look of the Shark but i have a 3 year old Miele so guessing thats not going anywhere anytime soon. Though to be fair to it it is a very good hoover

Ducknose · 19/09/2017 16:25

God I hate my Henry! Every time I use him, his nose falls off and I have to screw it back on again.

ofshoes · 19/09/2017 16:29

Can a dyson do this though?
