Dd not 100% and lack of sleep for me

Lucky if I got 15 mins sleep last night as dd was up all night complaining about her tummy. I'm due in work at 9.30 but feel that I may cause a accident due to lack of sleep, also keeping dd of school as she's been complaining all night and not had any sleep herself. Aibu to phone in work as 1. I've had no sleep and 2. I have no child care for her as parents are away this week.

Yanbu.

Yanbu but I think I'd say you are ill. Some bosses are so unsympathetic to kids being ill.

YANBU. Look after yourself and your daughter Flowers

If she's been in pain all night surely you need to see a doctor today? How old is she and does she have an existing medical condition?

FannyTheFlamingo · 18/09/2017 08:14

If it's a one off then phone in. I wouldn't lie though. I say this as a former employer in retail who knows when someone is lying when they phone in sick! Be honest, say DD is sick and you need to get her a doctor's appointment and then look after her.

JenNtonic · 18/09/2017 08:35

Awwwww hope you both feel better soon. I'd ring in and tell them what you've just told us BrewFlowers (plus the docs appointment).

I would also make the point about not being safe either - you don't say what the job is but do say about causing an accident. I have a rule - tired is OK - feeling so tired I feel sick when I go to get out of bed is not. Thats the point I have phoned in in the past or now being self employed go back to bed for an hr min if I can.

Phone in, back to bed for both of you
