To put the heating on?

LastMangoInPeckham · 17/09/2017 22:35

Temperature is now in single figures.

Surely that's the point at which I can transition from "put on a jumper" to "put on the heating"?!

Or light the fire..?

I've had mine on all week. It's bladdy freeeezing!

SirRaymondLuxuryYacht · 17/09/2017 22:38

Just this minute put mine on too. Tis bit nippy tonight.

SaucyJack · 17/09/2017 22:39

Lightweights. I've still got windows open.

DramaAlpaca · 17/09/2017 22:40

We put ours on this evening, unusually early in the year for us.

bimbobaggins · 17/09/2017 22:42

I've had mine on sinc July, just half an hour here and there. My house heats up quite quickly but there is definitely a chill that putting a jumper on doesn't help with

TheABC · 17/09/2017 22:42

Ours is on.
Although that's partly because I flooded the bathroom and we are praying the downstairs ceiling will be OK.

KeepServingTheDrinks · 17/09/2017 22:42

We turned ours on this afternoon. It's bloody lovely in here now. The dog's all toasty and warm, I'm all toasty and warm.... I'll venture out again in Spring, I think.

LittleCandle · 17/09/2017 22:42

I'm seriously thinking of unearth my winter duvet. I have a blanket over the top of my summer one. But then, I do feel the cold...

user327854831 · 17/09/2017 22:47

Yes, we still have the windows open and are sleeping under sheets not duvets.

ilovesooty · 17/09/2017 22:49

I'm still finding the summer duvet too warm.

00100001 · 17/09/2017 22:51

Our weather is very confused right now. Today it's chucked it down, had glorious sunshine, a fair bit of wind. Changes every few hours!

HLBug · 17/09/2017 22:53

Electric blanket on here...

PinkHeart5913 · 17/09/2017 22:56

It's on here. My rabbit is loving it Grin

To put the heating on?
HeddaGarbled · 17/09/2017 22:59

I put mine on last Monday morning when I got up for work at 6.00 and the bathroom was too cold to strip off in for my shower without discomfort and the towels were still damp from the previous day.

Being uncomfortable does not make you morally superior. Be comfortable.

lmrcpr · 17/09/2017 23:07

My heating is on an automatic setting so comes on if it gets below a set temperature. It came on tonight so I think it is fine for anyone to put the heating on.( as referenced by my lovely new boiler that controls my lovely new radiators that don't leak)

CakeNinja · 17/09/2017 23:13

Ooh get it on!
I have windows open for fresh air otherwise it seems musty but also have the heating on.

BubblesBubblesBubbles · 17/09/2017 23:23

Sat here debating on putting the heating on - bloody freezing in the bedroom.

Unfortunately dh is a Yorkshire man and he's said no to putting it on yet. Personally I think he should go live in the shed if he doesn't mind the cold Grin

DD0314 · 17/09/2017 23:34

Mines on too. I swear September isn't usually this cold. Cave, you'll feel better for it.

Crumbs1 · 17/09/2017 23:36

We light a fire each evening and have thevAga back on. No heating just yet though.

ParkheadParadise · 17/09/2017 23:57

My heating has been on for weeks

musicposy · 18/09/2017 00:44

Mine came on automatically this morning for the first time. I was irrationally annoyed and turned the thermostat down to 15. It's on a timer just in case it drops to freezing overnight, but in my head I haven't given it permission to come on in September! I'm just waiting for some lightweight to turn it back up (I'm looking at you, DH) and then the heating will be switched to off.

I may be a little over-obsessed about the gas bill. I can't see the point in paying when there are spare jumpers in the cupboard. Mind you, I'm under the duvet in fleece PJs and I have to admit it's a tad nippy!

Topseyt · 18/09/2017 01:22

We are having a new boiler fitted over the next couple of days, and once that is done ours will be going on.

flamingnoravera · 18/09/2017 19:33

My boiler has given up today. No hot water or heating for a week, how the feck will I go to work all stinky and with greasy hair? Seriously I'm considering taking the week off and moving in at the swimming pool. I'm not a twice a day showerer or a sweaty Betty but I do need my dose of hydrotherapy daily via a shower before work. :(
