Aibu skiing and ttc

I have the opportunity to ski early next year but am also considering starting to try for a baby late this year. The chance of me being pregnant seems slim so I really want to say yes I can go but if I was pregnant can I ski? Would you have wanted to in early pregnancy? This will be my first child. I am not a beginner but not a expert skier either. Thanks.

I went skiing 5 weeks pregnant. My knees hurt more than normal and I ate more carbs. Other than that nothing was different.

My advice would be that you don't know how long it will take to fall pregnant. Don't assume you'll get pregnant 1st or 2nd cycle. Be realistic about how long it takes and don't put your life on hold when you're trying as that will just load the pressure on.

Why not keep up with the condoms for the extra couple of months? Problem disappears.

It's a persinal choice . I skiied while ttcing (actually I was pregnant but didn't know) had a really bad accident. Baby was fine (after a lot of very stressful risk assessments) but I had to have multiple operations and ended up with permanent damage partly because I couldn't take certain medications due to pregnancy. Basically with hindsight I wouldn't do it!!

Book an early ski trip in January time and start TTC then, so you're only putting it off a month or two?

I went skiing with DH

1st night I had a bit of bleeding and thought "Oh...ffs, my period when we are away for a week - great" - then it stopped

Then I kept being really tired - put it down to altitude

The last night I was puking my guts up and had the most explosive other end (sorry TMI). Put it down to the cheese buffet..

Got home, did a pregnancy test and guess what :)

Felt a bit guilty about all the black runs and Schnapps but DS is now a strapping 5yo so it hasn't seemed to harm him

But if you conceive at the end of this year you'll be more than a week or two along so as others say, you might have morning sickness and tiredness

I'd have the holiday first then TTC

Either way good luck
