My most inspirational quote actually came from mumsnet.
Not my circus not my monkeys.
It has stopped my over involvement in things which were affecting my life.

If I had my own country its national anthem would be 'Give Us The Wind' by Future Islands.

tehmina23 · 18/09/2017 18:50

From Terminator 2!!

'There is no fate but what we make'

From Kate Moss:

'Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels'. (I'm on a diet!)

Also 'never complain, never explain'

tehmina23 · 18/09/2017 18:51

Sorry my quotes are not very intellectual

Whatamesshaslunch · 18/09/2017 18:57

I love:
We cannot stay at home all our lives. We must present ourselves to the world and we must look upon it as an adventure.

And:
And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.

That second one just makes me feel all tingly!

Whatamesshaslunch · 18/09/2017 18:58

Oh and also 'they fuck you up, your mum and dad' is always worth remembering when thinking about intervening in your offsprings lives! Wink

I have this on my wall - it keeps me sane!

PutTheBunnyBackInTheBox · 18/09/2017 19:09

To make tehmina23 feel better;

"Yippee ki yay" (Die Hard)Grin

Needalifeoverhaul · 18/09/2017 19:10

The only approval you need is your own
And
You only live once!

Both help me to stop worrying so much and ease my chronic self doubt!!

RedHelenB · 18/09/2017 19:12

Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it.

Timefortea99 · 18/09/2017 19:15

I try to remember this to let things go. Not always easy.

DragonNoodleCake · 18/09/2017 19:19

Not a quote or book but it was the realisation that life is about the connections we make and the relationships we cultivate.

SleepingBooty · 18/09/2017 19:23

Gratitude turns what we want into enough.

The best things in life are not things.

lljkk · 18/09/2017 19:26

One I like a lot, lately: "Everyone has their own struggle"

Pandoraslastchance · 18/09/2017 19:28

'Just keep swimming' nice, simple and to the point.

'The darkest hour comes before the dawn'

HelloHouse · 18/09/2017 22:10

'Your value does not decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth'

AaandPeggy · 18/09/2017 22:24

I don't know the quote exactly, but there was a BBC documentary a few years ago that followed a 20-something man with terminal cancer. He was determined to make the most of his last few months and was so positive and happy, and he said something like 'imagine feeling as good as I do now, but having so much more time'.

I think about that quite a lot...
