To shave my cat's arse?

My semi long haired cat, bless her, quite often goes for a shit but gets a little stuck in the hair around her arse.

Is she just not very bright or is this a "thing"?

I know about the dirty bottom issue! I had a long haired cat who regularly had her trousers trimmed and claws cut by the nurse at her 6 months check up. My dsis has a long haired cat who had never had to be trimmed until recently, he needed shaving under his tummy, vets did not offer to do it. I offered to trim him if she could hold him but she didn't think we could manage and as he is 15 she thought we needed to see a professional groomer. She took him to be groomed at Pets at Home who run a cat grooming session on Sunday mornings before the store is open. This was just off the A3 at South Wimbledon, and she said they were brilliant.
