to think after 10 noise complaints I would at least get an acknowledgment?

We live next door to a house share. I have logged 10 noise complaints with the council on their online form thing. This is the only way to do so, they won't speak to you on the phone and obviously the police want nothing to do with it. The neighbours have all night parties, we can hear the lyrics to the songs in every room of our house. We ask them nicely to turn it down, they just ignore us or laugh at us. This is the 3rd consecutive night now their music and shouting has disturbed us and kept the children up. The council have not once responded to my complaints. The LL and home owner say to contact the council and let them know how we get on but won't take any action. AIBU to have expected at least an acknowledgment from the council? And if IABU, how many complaints should I make before I should expect some sort of response?

Email or phone your local councillor and ask them to bump your complaints

They will probably give you a log to keep a record

I have emailed my local councillors twice and never had a reply. The online form thing is a log, which I am meant to update with any new occurrences or developments. Which I do. I have emailed my local councillors about other issues and also never had a reply :-(

If I were you - I would now go to the council ward meeting and bring it up in person. They can't ignore you face to face. Good luck, you and your children should not have to live with that level of noise.

Have you any evidence of the neighbours using drugs of any kind, or any other criminal offence? The police might wish to be involved then.

You can sue them and get a court order to make them stop.
