I was just looking at it and it seems so good so I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with it. What's the catch?

You have to be aware that if you have looked at a site and then go to TopCashback that you may be refused. Before you sign up to Topcashback its worth clearing cookies and then only going through them. You only get money on sites you go to through them.

Sometimes firms actually up the price they will charge if you go through TopCashback so that the money you get as cashback is actually added on to the price that you pay. It isn't always like that, though.

You get slightly more if you cash out via vouchers.

Some people may be able to get out extra pennies but I only go on there for stuff I would get anyway. I let it pile up until it's Christmas and get it in Amazon vouchers. It's usually not that much, but it all helps

Bambamber · 14/09/2017 11:57

I get a fair amount on there for stuff I would normally be getting anyway. Holiday transfers, wedding rings, insurance. Often get cashback on free trials too. Never had a problem with them

nannyuk · 14/09/2017 11:57

Thank you for in insight I will watch out for that

Quick check and in the 7years I've been a member I've been paid out £795. Have £100 outstanding at the moment.
Have used it for things like breakdown cover, insurance, utilities. Sometimes things like insurance quotes are more than without using TCB but the cashback is higher than the difference so it's still worth it.

GandolfBold · 14/09/2017 12:01

I am a top cashback junkie. Have made £1600 in just under three years.

I don't buy anything I wouldn't already buy, however whenever I buy anything I always use TCB. Insurance, holidays, ebay. We have renovated our house so have been spending quite a bit and I have used TCB for all of that, which has helped increase what we have earned.

I convert ours to air miles and we have managed to buy flights to Munich and Barcelona (not just with TCB, we use Shell and Tesco for airmiles too.)

PerfumeIsAMessage · 14/09/2017 12:03

I prefer Quidco but am a member of both.

No catch, sometimes the sites won't pay up and sometimes they take an age to come, but at Christmas time especially, you can make massive savings.

PaintingByNumbers · 14/09/2017 12:06

I like it and make a couple of hundred quid back a year, just on normal shopping. Usually.I do the online shop, get as far as the basket, remember tcb, log in via tcb and my basket is there waiting to be paid for. Still get the cashback, or always have so far ...

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 14/09/2017 12:09

I've made over £1300 back.

I have never found the prices have been artificially inflated after using a TopCashback link. That is unlikely to be legal.

FineSally · 14/09/2017 12:10

I have signed up but don't use it much. For things like insurance, I can often get a better deal by going direct or with another company.

Just a word of warning - as LisaMed1 says, make sure you clear your cookies if you have been looking at the same sites elsewhere. And be aware that your cashback won't usually track if you have Adblocking software installed.

nannyuk · 14/09/2017 12:12

It seems I will sign up for it then. Thank you Smile

Neither have I.

BabsGanoush · 14/09/2017 12:15

We have been with Quidco since 2008 and have earned £622.

We could have earned more but I forget to go through them most of the time.

bettytaghetti · 14/09/2017 12:22

Another fan here too. Over the years I've had over £5,500 cashback.
Whenever I'm looking to buy something online, I always check to see if there is cashback available on TCB (works better for me than Quidco, but I will go through that if not available on TCB), and check to see if there are any discount codes on sites such as hotukdeals.com. TCB have tightened up their rules and you may find now that a discount that is not supported by TCB will prevent you getting cashback, so I weigh up the discount vs. the cashback. Bear in mind that sometimes the cashback will fail for some reason as some retailers can be awkward about paying out, although TCB are very good at investigating if you think you should have received cashback.
The way I view it is, that I was going to spend that money anyway, so if I do get a cashback then it's a bonus.
You'll be surprised how quickly it does build up if you are a fan of online shopping. Should point out that I'm not affiliated in anyway!

LisaMed1 · 14/09/2017 12:22

to be fair, it's been insurance costs that have been tweaked. I've not seen it in other things, like moonpig

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 14/09/2017 12:25

I agree it's best not to count on the cashback but think of it as a bonus.

Looking at you DFDS seaways

WhyamIBoredathome · 14/09/2017 12:45

I use it. I agree about their clickthrough prices sometimes being higher, so I always do a direct quote using a different device first ( so it doesn't leave cookies.).
I only joined recently but have made almost £100 cashback on two one night hotel bookings.

WhyamIBoredathome · 14/09/2017 12:46

I am also a member of quidco but topcashback seem to pay out quicker.
