AIBU ovulation predictor kit doesn't work?

posting for traffic

a few times now I've used the Clearblue ovulation predictor kit with dual hormone indicator and it's displayed a solid (not flashing) smiley and the smiley hasn't disappeared (it's meant to after five mins). It does this sometimes after a day or two of displaying flashing smileys (and maybe normal solid smileys).

It did it yesterday and the smiley was still there when I was testing today so the test hasn't worked as the original smiley won't budge.

I'm hoping this is a sign that i'm mega-fertile as i'm due IVF soon!

It does say it's not suitable for (PCOS) Polycystic Ovary Syndrome....I have polycystic ovaries but don't think I have full-blown PCOS, I suppose I have a mild version of it.

Well it says it's not suitable so why on earth would you presume it would work?

I have contacted the company but I have to wait for them to send me an email before i'm allowed to even ask the question??!!

peachandplum because if I do have a mild version of PCOS (it depends which definition of PCOS you use) it can be corrected by acupuncture (when I can afford it)

The solid smiley stays for 48 hours as indicates peak fertility. You're supposed to stop testing after getting solid smiley and can't use same holder again that cycle. It's in the instructions!

I had this kit as a product tester and had the same problem as you for 6 months.

I has pcos (but didn't know it at the time, or rather I hadn't been diagnosed).
I understand the distinction between PCOS and polycystic ovaries, but sadly either way
our hormones are too out of whack for the poor thing to be able to make sense of it.

Ive never had an ovulation predictor test work ever and have got pregnant 3 times.

I also sort of have a similar thing where I have a few more of those cyst (is that the word?) Things than normal but not actual pcos iyswim.

I thought for ivf they test you with a more sensitive test themselves, but I know the temptation just to test anyway! Blush
