Not sure because they have 100% feedback

I purchased 3 dolls. They were listed as used and one doll was listed as having a broken part

I didn't mind the broken part listed as we already have that doll (part of a collection)

I received and they seemed dirtier than usually I would receive when bought 2nd hand but still I figured you can simply clean things and I normally would anyway clean a bit even if looked clean

Tried to pull cord and one didn't speak - ok, I can change batteries

Tried to pull other doll cord and it's completely broken in that the cord doesn't retract so wouldn't speak even with new batteries

Emailed seller who's replied telling me they're an honest seller and dolls weren't listed as talking... well no they weren't but they also weren't listed as not talking and they're talking dolls so why not list as broken??

They've offered me a partial refund of £5

I paid £15 or near that excluding postage on the auction

I was buying for birthday present as I'm skint and child wouldn't care was 2nd hand. Not their problem I know so asking here in case that buggering me is clouding my judgement in how angry I feel and pissed off by offering me £5 for something broken and dirty I can't use

They're taking the piss. Ask for a full refund and they pay postage for return or you will escalate and leave bad feedback.

DarceyBusselsNose · 13/09/2017 14:24

They are being U.

Do a charge back through paypal and neg them (and I never advise that) but I cannot abide sellers who mug people off.

eBaydrama · 13/09/2017 14:32

I'm an idiot in that I haven't used PayPal I don't think.

Merely because I was on app and couldn't remember my log in for PayPal and it has something about ticking here re PayPal service conditions if you use your card

So not sure if I can claim anything from PayPal (lesson learned if so) and I think I have to rely on seller/eBay to sort

Open a case with Ebay as not as described. Add photos of everything, regardless of whether it shows the lack of sound, if the condition is not as good as it should be, show broken bits that were not mentioned, everything.

Opening a case will affect the seller's ability to sell/visibility on the search. If they don't resolve it they will get a defect. Even if you don't get the refund it will be on their account.

If they are dodgy they may already have defects and may wish to avoid another one.

AllToadsLeadToHome · 13/09/2017 14:38

Sorry, forgot to say, sometimes you have to fight a bad seller and it is possible you will win. Don't leave feedback until it is all over, and make sure it is factual, don't give them a chance to get it removed as that might be why they have 100%.

coffeekittens · 13/09/2017 14:39

They're taking the piss, escalate to ebay for a refund.

nicelyneurotic · 13/09/2017 15:50

You can get a full refund including delivery costs if the item is broken but not listed as broken

eBaydrama · 13/09/2017 16:04

How do I do this?

Decline the refund?

They replied "as a goodwill gesture I can offer you partial refund of £5"

I feel even more pissed off now. They're broken!!!

If you're happy to say one is broken why not say others are??!

How do I reply to them?

Sorry I'm not great at eBay... it's normally simple Confused

TheDiamondMumcrafter · 13/09/2017 16:42

Open a case through eBay. Explain that the items are broken. State you wish to return for full refund. As the item is broken the seller must accept a return. If you cannot reach a resolution with the seller, eBay will step in and the likelihood will be that eBay will find in your favour.

Bonez · 13/09/2017 16:45

eBay usually sides with the buyers. Open a case with the resolution centre.

BewareOfDragons · 13/09/2017 16:49

Escalate it through Ebay. They're taking the piss. They've probably bullied other customers before as well in this manner.

eBaydrama · 13/09/2017 17:07

Do I click decline refund?

I can't find a way to message seller without accepting or declining but just want to be sure before I press it I'm not doing anything wrong by doing this already?

Sorry for being dense!

OP posts:
eBaydrama · 13/09/2017 17:11

I've already started some form of request through eBay I think as it says see request details but I can't see what I initially ticked - presumably something like request refund

AllToadsLeadToHome · 13/09/2017 17:16

If no-one on here can advise about accepting or declining I would suggest going to the EBay community forums, there are people there that can advise you, not saying that no-one here is able to but it is not something that everyone will have experienced on here whereas on there they are all Ebay users.

eBaydrama · 13/09/2017 18:06

Thanks are they on MN? Or google and find them?

Thanks everyone x

Sorry, only just seen your reply, they are on Ebay under Community.

Todaywashorrible · 20/09/2017 22:58

I don't understand how you've paid if not paypal.... did you do a bank transfer?

99blueballoons · 20/09/2017 23:05

Ebay are really really good on the phone. I have resolved a few cases by calling them they're super helpful. If you don't know what to click I'd call them up. My instinct would be to decline the partial refund and open a case requesting a full refund as they're broken.

Haffiana · 20/09/2017 23:10

This is a good eBay forum to ask in.
