This film is unbearable!

It's only just started but I'm cringing!!

Aibu? It's so so sexist

Is this the one from 15 years ago (or so?) Only film I've ever walked out on at the cinema, it was appalling.

hasitcometothis33 · 09/09/2017 23:27

Lots of bizarre classism in the film too

Sandsunsea · 09/09/2017 23:27

Should really be called "what this individual wants"

whichwaynow82 · 09/09/2017 23:28

Yes that's the one - with Mel Gibson.

He's basically able to hear what women think.... it's awful.

Probably about 15 years old

bellabelly · 09/09/2017 23:29

Haha! I love it! Bit of nonsense.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 09/09/2017 23:29

I'm watching this and cringing. His daughter is the actress from Big Little Lies - I'd wondered where I'd seen her before.

simpaticasimpatica · 09/09/2017 23:29

Meh it's a 17 year old film

whichwaynow82 · 09/09/2017 23:30

Things have changed ALOT in 17 years

OP posts:
simpaticasimpatica · 09/09/2017 23:31

Who does the daughter play in Big Little Lies?

dingdongdigeridoo · 09/09/2017 23:32

Remember when Mel Gibson was a sex symbol and not a creepy, racist domestic abuser? It's weird seeing him as a romantic lead now.

Bonez · 09/09/2017 23:33

Gosh I love that film Grin one of my faves. Love just sticking it on in the background.

Jezzifishie · 09/09/2017 23:33

They have changed, but even then (I was 15) we knew it wasn't right. I was with a group of friends, we walked out because it was so bad - then got thrown out of the cinema anyway because we tried to sneak in to see Charlie's Angels Blush

HidingBehindTheWallpaper · 09/09/2017 23:33

We are watching it in shock her.

DH is appalled. I've never seen it before either. It's dreadful.

BackieJerkhart · 09/09/2017 23:35

It stars Mel Gibson, you can't really have expected it to be good? Grin

NaughtyHiccups · 09/09/2017 23:36

She wasn't in Big Little Lies?

whichwaynow82 · 09/09/2017 23:36

Don't think his daughter is in big little lies.

Yes I remember Mel Gibson when he was considered hot - can't stand him.

Awful.

My bed is calling.

It just shocked me glad IANBU!

applesareredandgreen · 09/09/2017 23:38

Isn't it meant to be ironic that he thinks he's 'god's gift' but when he gets to know what they are really thinking it shows that they actually think he's a sexist knob?

BorisTrumpsHair · 09/09/2017 23:39

It wad still absolutely shite 17 years ago. Beginning of the end of Mel Gibson.

HidingBehindTheWallpaper · 09/09/2017 23:43

DH is enjoying spotting the computers.

mammmamia · 09/09/2017 23:44

I remember watching that when it came out and it was so awful I couldn't believe it. A week later I went on a flight and that was the feature film showing. Worst film ever.

whichwaynow82 · 09/09/2017 23:47

It's just awful I've tried but I can't do this to myself. Sleep is way more important!

OP posts:
MyBrilliantDisguise · 09/09/2017 23:47

Love how that woman's had the best sex of her life but kept her underwear on throughout.

PeterBlue · 09/09/2017 23:49

Always got the feeling that Bette Midler's part was mostly left on the cutting room floor.

whichwaynow82 · 09/09/2017 23:54

Or that just because he can read her mind he is 'able' to give her the best sex ever.

AnxietyOlympian · 09/09/2017 23:57

I saw this in cinema years ago but don't remember... What kinds of lines are awful now?
