To think it is impossible to stop teenage boys feeling hungry?

Ok shameless post here for the traffic. But anyone managed to find relatively healthy ways to keep teenage boys feeling full? I have 2 who are just perpetually hungry and need some ideas on how to fill them better than I am.

It's all about protein, writing cube of cheese makes me feel that your grasp on their hunger levels isn't fully understood. We are talking block of cheese levels sometimes. I find the hunger increases in a growth spurt just like when they are babies, plus the grumpiness. DS was like this a few months ago it was intense and not just regular levels of eating quite a lot. He then grew three inches in about what seemed like two weeks.

I did what sweetbitter suggests lots of chicken drumsticks in the fridge. I also bought filled pasta. He often had that after school the portions for two people size and he would add a blob of dressing. Also nuts are a good source, he drinks a lot of milk, a pint at a time. He is now six three and just started sixth form.

For anyone interested in height and size as a social concept and there are always exceptions before people clamour with their stories here is a study from Exeter University about height, It's purely because the poster mentioned protein is expensive and it is. www.bmj.com/content/352/bmj.i582.

Buy bags of nuts from the baking aisle rather than whole foods aisle they're cheaper for some reason????

Cheese strings, pepperami, chicken wings are good either bought cooked or whack a load in the oven and keep them in the fridge for snacking.

A good snack for ds is microwave brown rice, spinach and a can of tuna. Keeps him going for about an hour HmmGrin

I cook chicken at the beginning of the week for wraps with salad for packed lunches.
