To think that Netflix has really gone down hill?

It feels like ages since they've added any good series/more seasons of popular series on there. Considering dropping the subscription altogether.

I was actually thinking early about how much better it is now than it used to be! Some of the Netflix Originals are brilliant. I'm currently binge watching The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Bit random but light-hearted series written by Tina Fey.

I saw a trailer for a documentary about lady gaga that looks interesting. It's our next Week I think - hoping it's not just a U.S.thing. I'm not a fan but she opens up about depression and anxiety.

I would recommend Dirk Gentlys Holistic Detective Agency. Its apparently similar to Dr Who, for those who like it (never watched so cant confirm) but I found it so funny.
It's a mixture of comedy, sci fi and some Tarantino tones (bloody). Honestly, I'm waiting to forget some of the storylines so I can watch it and be suprised all over again.

13 reasons why, not new but if you've not watched it and if you like high school with dark themes, give it a go. (I know there was controversy but I think it was good)

Also Once Upon a Time was good.

'13 reasons why' was brilliant. Loved it. Very moving, and well done....

wineusuallyhelps · 08/09/2017 23:53

I've only recently started Ozark and am enjoying it a lot.

Every few nights I watch another Breaking Bad I'm on my third viewing of all five series because I love it so much Blush

Black Mirror is one of the most thought-provoking series I've ever seen; really close to the bone and made me question a lot about the way we live.

Also re-watching Stranger Things ready for season 2!

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 09/09/2017 00:08

Shameless place marking for inspiration!

deadringer · 09/09/2017 00:17

I think Netflix is a bit crap too, I liked it at first but quickly ran out of things to watch, anything half decent I have already seen on regular tv. My dd pays for it otherwise I would have cancelled it long ago. I loved stranger things but haven't really got into anything else on it. The movies are ancient or absolutely dire imo.

SomeOtherFuckers · 09/09/2017 00:18

Reign?
Glow is great, as is atypical or Santa Clarita diet

Eastie77 · 09/09/2017 00:24

Just started Bloodlines. Halfway through Stranger Things and Ozark and have a dozen other shows on My List to watch. Loved The Crown (and I'm no fan of the monarchy!) and the US version of The Killing. Netflix is da bomb.

tiffanysfanny · 09/09/2017 00:30

-A typical is my new favourite.
-power

Helena333 · 09/09/2017 00:32

Oh yeah the CROWN was amazing!!!

Also 'The Circle' with Emma Watson and Tom Hanks was good too. Very 'black mirror!' Grin

I wish we had access to the stuff they have on the American version, so many shows i love are on there but the UK netflix cant get the license.
still, i dutifully pay my £8.99 a month and share it with my dad and sister. I Have recently gotten NOW TV too, but just the entertainment, as i wanted to watch a specific show and NOW TV is cheaper than upgrading my cable to get the channel. I'm debating keeping it or getting rid for now, because i want to watch season 8 of the walking dead when it starts next month, BUT i still havent seen season 7, which isnt on there as it took 3 months to get my subscription as i was having issues with it accepting my card, and by the time it accepted, the show was over and only the last 4 eps were still there on catch up. I havent checked when 7 is out on DVD, but you gt 28 days before they go off catch up so if it is out before november on DVD i might keep NOW tv.

oldlaundbooth · 09/09/2017 01:39

Uncle Buck has recently been added.

dimondjedi9 · 09/09/2017 03:04

Constantine is really good, the originals and vampire diaries if you like that sort of thing.

dimondjedi9 · 09/09/2017 03:06

Oh and outlander.

mammmamia · 09/09/2017 03:33

OP have you seen Reign?

Penny4UrThoughts · 09/09/2017 05:54

Netflix's version of a series of unfortunate events is utterly fabulous. I'm getting into the 3% at the moment - it didn't grab me immediately, but then there was one fabulous episode and I'm a bit hooked now.

DoraChance · 09/09/2017 06:21

Mad Men is my favourite ever.

MaximaDeWit · 09/09/2017 06:30

Three words.

House of Cards.

Flossy1978 · 09/09/2017 06:35

Be lucky you don't have Australia Netflix. It is so crap. Hardly anything new. Half of the movies are Asian/Middle Eastern. There is hardly anything on it. Something to do with Australian copyright laws. Most people I know have dropped it.

ajb17 · 09/09/2017 06:40

Reign is amazing if you like period type shows, the crown is also great.

IClavdivs · 09/09/2017 06:52

Interesting. I found lots of things I want to see,and for $10/month, extremely reasonable. Someone further up mentioned "House of Cards". I was delighted to see that as well as Kevin Spacey's verson, the British original with Ian Richardson is available. This is one of the most memorable things I have ever seen on TV (the original).

I haven't noticed the problem with the movies, but then, I tend to search for movies by actor.

wizzywig · 09/09/2017 07:48

Same op. I love my scandi thrillers and theres nothing left

Cailleach666 · 09/09/2017 07:53

Do like most others do and stream stuff.

bigchris · 09/09/2017 07:54

I've started rewatching Gossip Girl , love it
