To want to leave ASAP

Having recently handed my notice in at my current job I'm starting to dread going to work!
Since handing my notice in the manager of the company has called me disloyal and told me how much money was wasted on the agency who brought me in. This made me pretty upset and I'm not quite sure I can last the notice period with this guy! He screams at me during phone calls yet when customers are present he is nice as pie.
He is the owner and so I feel there is little else I can do.AIBU to leave asap? don't feel I have many other options left but i'm starting to get anxiety the night before work not sure my nerves can last the notice period Sad

To a lesser degree than you I'm in this situation - certainly being ostracised by certain colleagues and senior managers. I'm finding that the old trope of "the best revenge is to live well." So I try to smile through the days giving the outward impression of not having a care in the world.

I've started to find that once this starts to irk the agitators a little, the balance starts to tip in your favour mentally. Chin up, it'll soon be over. Xx

Constructive dismissal cases are exceedingly difficult to win. It is not an easy thing to prove at all. You also need 2 years' continuous employment behind you and payouts are typically pretty low. It's very rarely worth it when there's a new job to go to and it can't be demonstrated that steps were taken to try to resolve the situation before resigning.

OP, how long have you got left? Any annual leave left?

Don't have to go the whole way with the CD - it might be the threat is enough to make NM (nasty manager) to have a think about behaviour.

Thanks for all the replies. I have over 2 months left sadly. I'm leaving the job as I found the same job within walking distance that pays more. Strangely I never really came into to contact with him until I handed my notice in.

Do not lose money because of your current boss bullying you, he would have won then.

Whenever he's being an arsehole try to block him out and remember that you don't have to deal with him for much longer and that this proves you made the right decision. If he screams at you or shouts at you down the phone then put the phone down, no one deserves to be spoken to like that and you won't be seeing him again in a couple of months anyway.

I also wonder whether he's deliberately being nasty to you to make a huge show to other employees of what happens when you hand your notice in so as to scare them in to staying.

HolidayTimeAgain · 06/09/2017 07:56

How long have you worked there? Could you afford to leave sooner?

How long is your notice period? Can you put up with it for that long? Where I work if you take sick leave in your notice period you'd only get statutory sick pay so before taking advice to go off sick, check your contract.

It sounds like you don't want to do that and make your colleagues' work harder - in this situation I'd just suck it up, knowing the end is in sight.

StickThatInYourPipe · 06/09/2017 07:59

Tbh OP I think you should just leave! I wouldn't even bother getting a sick note etc. He sounds like a complete twat. You owe him nothing and certainly not your mental health!

CheshireSplat · 06/09/2017 08:02

Sorry, OP none of the updates since 7 had shown when I wrote my post. Bad luck, 2 months is a long time. Hopefully he'll get bored of trying to upset you.

LakieLady · 06/09/2017 08:20

Put the phone down on him when he starts screaming. Tell him his behaviour is unacceptable and abusive. Every single time.

He's an absolute bully and someone needs to give him a wake-up call.

Volchitsa · 06/09/2017 17:55

Thanks for all the advice Smile Hopefully i'll get a start date for my new job this week and put this down to bad luck shesaidhesaid i think it may definitely be a case of scaring the others into staying!
