AIBU to want to board-mount a poster?

A few years ago we bought a large poster on holiday and had it mounted onto 1cm thick board (possibly MDF?) for our bedroom wall. I think it looks really good, and now want to do the same with another poster. I wasn't sure of the correct name for the process, but I googled and came up with "block mounted". Is that right?

Trouble is, I just phoned our local frame shop and they said they don't do it. I asked if they knew of somewhere else that does it locally and he said "I don't know if anyone will - it's a bit 1970s".

So, am I trying to do something really outdated, or have I just got the name wrong?

Just googled and loads of places do it, this is one

www.isiscreative.co.uk/other-services/mounting-images/

You may have to find out if you can send it to them, plus cost of delivery back.

There are loads of places if you Google.
