AIBU to ask you how things would be different if men had periods?

DD12 started her periods last week.

It's been a roller coaster of emotions. To perk her up DH and I started talking about what the world would be like if men had periods. 5 days paid leave every month, free sanitary wear etc - it goes without saying but DD's fav was the suggestion that they'd be showing off about it "look at the girth of my tampon, I'm so manly" or "You should see my flow rate" etc. and DH's invention - "the sanitary towel tool belt" to be worn for 1 week out of 4, showing off how manly you are and offering a wide selection of towels and tampons for any eventuality.

Any other predication of how the weaker sex would cope/react to being on the blob (sorry couldn't resist)?

This thread has made me genuinely laugh out loud! Grin
Surely if men had periods they would long ago have invented a tiny pill you could take which would stop the bleeding forever with no side effect and not have any detrimental effect on fertility/libido/mental health etc etc

You can get morphine for period pains ;) .. although it did get to the point of being doubled up on surgery floor crying first.

Management would understand better , I explained I had been admitted to hospital suffering period type pain - 'but we all have them and we don't all make such a fuss!'

Loving the tampon gun and ammo belts. I might make one for myself

I totally agree with lack of understanding but I find other women are worse for that.
I've had horrendous bleeding where I literally can't get off the toilet so called in to work sick (very rare occurrence).
Female boss said "oh but sometimes I get heavy periods and have to change tampons every 4 hours" Hmm

Look forward to seeing OP's Facebook selling page with the tampon gun and ammo belts Grin

Tampons that sync to a smartphone app to see how full they are in order not to go through the embarrassment of leaking or the horrible pain of pulling out a dry tampon which scrapes nastily along the vagina walls. Bleugh.
