To think that there was such poor BBC coverage of the Queensferry Crossing opening.

Hardly mentioned on TV, only on local news.
This is a major structure, costing £1.2 billion pounds. the queen opened it this morning, it is the longest bridge of its construction type in the world.
I can't help feeling that if it had been constructed in the SE of England there would have been a little more media attention.

Funny when I called my mum up in Scotland a couple of days ago and asked what's this new bridge (after seeing it in the NATIONAL news coverage) she said 'I don't really know, I don't give a shit' Grin. So even some Scottish people weren't that bothered.

LaurieFairyCake · 05/09/2017 13:44

I'd not heard of the bridge (live in London) and I've just looked it up on Wiki - they were going to replace the 4th road bridge with it but now they're not? So it's just an extra bridge

And there's now 3 bridges there?

limitedperiodonly · 05/09/2017 13:51

I live in London and have seen and heard loads about it. You're being weirdly oversensitive.

When I read the OP I thought Hmm........ now some posters have explained it's an SNP bot it all makes sense! Shit propaganda as so blatantly untrue!

tabulahrasa · 05/09/2017 15:04

I'm pretty close to it and pro-independence for whatever difference that makes and I'm not sure why it's on the national news at all?

It's only of interest to local people surely? And maybe one of those weird late night BBC2 programmes about sciencey stuff...

ManicUnicorn · 05/09/2017 15:08

It was one of the headlines on the national news last night.

At the end of the day it's just a bloody bridge, and there's far more important things happening in the world.

DorisDangleberry · 05/09/2017 22:22

Nicola Sturgeon is back on my English TV today, and there isn't even a bridge being opened. We're being overrun I tell you
