My neighbour seems to remodel her house every few month, her DP is always doing DIY. It had cost then 4 thousands up till this point.
Shelves up, stair rails changed, Lastest colours.
This summer she knocked the wall out downstairs so her house is open plan.
She then spent thousands painting it and doing it up.
They wanted too sell the house and thought this would raise the value, as they have no equity, she let me see and yes it does look nice, but the Estate Agent has just been round and told her mine is worth the same as hers, I have never seen a woman have such a melt down before.

Not a troll I don't think. I've seen this poster before.

YABU op and it's very unattractive to sneer and smirk at your neighbour's misfortune.

user1490607838 · 03/09/2017 16:06

YABU, and you sound quite unpleasant to be honest.

mummmy2017 · 03/09/2017 16:06

Well why would you see anything has been done?

It's not your house, what were you doing, peering through the windows to see?confused

She invites you in to see the second it's finish, you sort of can't get out of being shown , and I don't like being rude as I have to live here.

happypoobum · 03/09/2017 16:07

It comes straight through the walls, all the time

But your house is detached......

Do you have binoculars so you can peer in to see what has been done or do you pretend to be their friend so you can pop round and have a nose although you secretly dislike them?

user1497357411 · 03/09/2017 16:10

I think you are all being a bit harsh with OP. It can be hell to live next to someone who is constantly noisy and I also sense that OP's neighbour might have been a bit "my house is nicer than your house. Neener, neener".

EdmundCleverClogs · 03/09/2017 16:11

Agree with others, your tone is quite nasty and sneering. DIY is a pain to listen to, but it seems you can easily communicate with her, why didn't you ask her to stop during inappropriate times (I assume you're moaning about evenings and weekends).

I don't like being rude

Internet forum the exception I take it.

mummmy2017 · 03/09/2017 16:11

Semi, and we are all friendly round here.
How do I get out of being shown, I have said before that I am busy and don't have time to look, and she pounces the next time, she does it too all of us that live round her, she is a bit full on.

SilverySurfer · 03/09/2017 16:11

Well you're lovely aren't you OP, not. Really unpleasant.

user1490607838 · 03/09/2017 16:11

How do you know all this @user1497357411 ???

metalmum15 · 03/09/2017 16:13

But your house is detached
How do you know this? Did op say?

Op i understand the frustration of diy, we're detached and can still hear everything our diy mad neighbours do. It is annoying when peaceful weekends are shattered every weekend. I do think your neighbour is a bit daft though if she doesn't realise that there is always a price ceiling no matter how much you change or update your house.

Mulberry72 · 03/09/2017 16:13

They're obviously moving to get away from you.

What a horrid thread.

Just say no? You may not like looking rude irl,but that would be preferable to pretending to like her and then starting a smirky thread on a public forum because she wants to sell her house, can't due to no equity and has basically lost a lot of money by renovating at all. Poor woman. She might be "full on", but I'd rather be full on than someone who smirks and revels in other people's bad luck. That's just icky.

mummmy2017 · 03/09/2017 16:16

Afraid so, spend most of my time in RL being nice to people and biting my tongue , have children who play with other children in the Cul-du-sac and have seen what happens if anyone round here makes a comment that upsets people, and I don't want my children's childhood to be affected, so keep quiet.

happypoobum · 03/09/2017 16:17

That's odd because less than a year ago you were boasting on this thread about your big five bedroom detached house.......

HarrietKettleWasHere · 03/09/2017 16:18

How odd OP. On that thread you sound just like your neighbour!

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 03/09/2017 16:19

"...seem to remodel the house, every few months"
"It has cost 4000 pounds, upuntil now"

Is this a dolls house your talking about? Confused

NicolasFlamel · 03/09/2017 16:19

Grin awkward

AnnetteCurtains · 03/09/2017 16:23

She's upset and you are mildly amused
Nice...........

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 03/09/2017 16:24

Oh god just what the world needs - another dishonest human being

mummmy2017 · 03/09/2017 16:25

happypoobum, You had me so confused there, sat scratching my head thinking when the heck did I write that.

I think the saying that a liar needs a good memory is appropriate here . You sound a delight OP , what a nasty thing to make up

AmysTiara · 03/09/2017 16:27

Happy Grin

So maybe you live under a bridge mummmy?

Floralnomad · 03/09/2017 16:28

Apologies then OP , but I stand by the nasty bit .

mummmy2017 · 03/09/2017 16:30

But none of you on here would drag all your neighbors in to see your newest bit of DIY, I am kind of hoping this will be the end of her DIY, it has ruined so many weekends.

OP posts:
ohherewegoagain · 03/09/2017 16:30

You do sound a bit mean OP.
