To want my money back. . .

To the point - purchased a branded flea product through eBay and pets are still riddled. .
Can I ask either the seller or manufacturer for my money back?
Shall I offer to send some live specimens as evidence?
Photos of my now semi bald cat who has obviously suffered a side effect of using it?
Photos of my poor dogs still scratching themselves daft?
I am fuming.
Dc all covered in bites.
Dh sick of hoovering.
Just well pd off!!

Was it frontline? It's known to be crap. Phone your local vets and get some stuff that actually works. We use Prinovox and it's great

Boatmistress17 · 03/09/2017 14:29

Vets won't supply without seeing all the pets!! Getting ddog of the most unfriendly variety there with multiple trips for the rest is going to take some organising but that's the way forward I think. And expensive after all I have apparently thrown away. . I have emailed the company but not hopeful. May send samples to make me feel better anyway!!

VetUK - Advantage. It's very good. Frontline is rubbish.

TheViceOfReason · 03/09/2017 15:45

What else did you do? If you have a flea infestation, just treating your pets is pointless - you need to get the whole house treated - furniture, carpets, curtains, contents etc.

dementedpixie · 03/09/2017 15:47

I have heard you should use indorex around the house as well as treating the pets. I use advocate on my cats. It's from the vet

5rivers7hills · 03/09/2017 15:48

You need a prescription for Advocate - go get it.

Also indorex for the house.

5rivers7hills · 03/09/2017 15:49

Getting your pets to the vets for working/flea prescriptions and jabs is just part of pet ownership

MysteryMacavity · 03/09/2017 15:50

The one from the vets will likely be the one(can't remember name) that kills the fleas on them AND around them. So if you do a few days fastidious hoovering once it's on, things will change very quickly.

metalmum15 · 03/09/2017 15:53

I use Advantage, you can buy it from Amazon. I second Indorex too, pricey but works well.

Boatmistress17 · 03/09/2017 16:44

I got a house spray from pets at home. All rooms done, dogs bathed after the suggested time frame post treatment. . Bedding binned (pets) dogs banished to utility! Cats dry shampood and combed, house resprayed, bowls of hot soapy water in every room is collecting plenty also!
How safe is retreating pets a couple of weeks after the useless stuff? Don't want to od poor Lurchers!!

What did you use on your animals?

Boatmistress17 · 03/09/2017 16:54

Sad to say Frontline. . Should have checked with mm first obviously. .

Hi. We had a major problem with fleas this year. Indorex really sorts out the house infestation. We also gave the car a warm bath up to her shoulders. This got rid of the flea dirt and her scratching stopped immediately. She'd scratched some of her fur out by then.

She wasn't best pleased but tolerated it surprisingly well.

BritInUS1 · 03/09/2017 17:12

We gave up on Frontline it never worked

Our cat gets an injection now from the vet every 6 months for fleas

I would also get the spray and do each room in your house to stop reinfestation

Boatmistress17 · 04/09/2017 08:50

I emailed the company last night - response this morning is they are going to pay for dcat to be seen at my vets at their expense tomorrow!!

That's good. You can't say further than that. I don't suppose.

RocketPockets · 04/09/2017 09:01

I'd recommend getting someone in to professionally do it for you if it's really bad. We've just paid for someone to do ours and it's worked first time. Far far better than us paying out loads for treatments that don't work properly! We're going for a prescription of advocate as well to keep on top of it!

Cakeycakecake · 04/09/2017 09:15

My dog was seen at vets recently for neutering. Covered in fleas, they asked what I use. Told them frontline. They immediately wrote up a prescription for a much stronger treatment and told me from now on to call vets to prescribe with a few days notice, and never touch frontline again. Apparently it's terrible. The one that I got from vet was 5.70 and within a day or so no fleas visible. Thank god. Poor dog was suffering. Flea bombed the house now so fingers crossed that's the end of it

ItWentInMyEye · 04/09/2017 09:24

I once used some flea powder from Wilkinson's to put round the edges of your rooms and it really worked.

GoldenBlue · 04/09/2017 09:40

We found our local fleas were immune to frontline. Our poor cars and dogs didn't improve at all.

Advantage worked immediately and you can buy that online

Boatmistress17 · 04/09/2017 11:18

They will pay for consultation but not treatment!!

Just back from the vet. .
£143.00.
Cc (con company) only paying £27 for consultation. .
Vet prescribed steroid injection for poor cat and proper flea treatment. .
Came back and dh googled it and found an online vet supplier.. .
Turns out if vet signs a prescription they will supply the same product for 50%less!!
Sent dh back with ludicrously expensive stuff for money back. Have to pay £8 per script for a signature but still be cheaper overall to do whole pet family.

Bet I am restless all night with lucid dreams about fucking fleas!!
So before you but from the vets try online!! Same products but 50% cheaper!!
