To watch naked attraction with my 16yo

Just wondered what people's thoughts were. Last night whilst channel hopping I came across naked attraction and decided to see what all the fuss was about. DD came downstairs and we ended up watching together. Talking about the body parts (not just genitals) of the contestants. My sister phoned during the program and couldn't believe I was watching with DD!

You seem uncommonly pleased with your transitiveness boundary breaking but are now pretending to ask a question with no interest in an answer, simply trying to encourage other such talesConfused:

Ok firstly there was no boundary breaking involved Confused

I asked with great interest in people's answers. I'm not willing to accept being called a fucking paedophile though, because that's a real cunt of a thing to suggest.

As long as your DD wasn't embarrassed or cringing due to watching it with her parent, I actually think it's a positive thing as I think the show promotes body positivity and confidence.

buckbeak · 02/09/2017 23:24

Bloody hell @Mawalls massive overreaction!!! Shock

I think it's fine. I love the presenter and the show isn't 'sexy' even though there's nudity. The naked hugs look awkward though Grin

Migraleve · 03/09/2017 09:27

That was what my sister was thinking, but DD chose to stay and watch it with me. There was no cringe and it did open conversation re bodies and people all being different etc

I would have watched something like that with my mum at that age, I remember we watched some porn documentary on TV together when I was about that age and laughed about it. It's good that you can share that with one another especially as she's getting older

Sparklingbrook · 03/09/2017 09:33

DS2 (15) wandered into the room when it was on the other day. He just laughed and said he couldn't believe people actually wanted to go on it.
It was annoying me that the man choosing kept saying that some of the women had nice vaginas. Hmm

Having given myself a bit of a break from mumsnet (a year or so until recently, having been on here for many years prior to that) I am sad to see that the cuntiness of the goady fuckers has not lessened in any way. However Mawalls you need to understand something...we all get that you are being a twat to get a bit of attention etc, that clearly that was not the OP's point and that you are a brave little keyboard warrior - but talking about toddlers masturbating on a thread about a mum watching a shit programme with her 16 year old is weird and a bit sick. I would suggest that all goady fuckers (naming no names obvs) fuck off to the far end of fuck and then fuck off some more (and as an example take their nasty insidious and inappropriate suggestions with them..)

Sayyouwill · 03/09/2017 09:50

@backintown 👏👏👏👏

SinisterBumFacedCat · 03/09/2017 10:10

The toddlers comment was so obviously a copy/paste job (hence the mystery bullet point). If your going to write irrelevant Grady shit Mawalls at least have creativity to make something up of your own.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 03/09/2017 10:11

Goady shit

BR62Y · 03/09/2017 10:13

As long as it comes with an explanation that shaving all of your body hair off isn't the norm it is fine. I have yet to see one female
Contestant on that show with pubic hair. Surely every person doesn't shave completely.

user1490465531 · 03/09/2017 10:15

I watched it with my ten year old dd. I find it good to be open about naked bodies so she can see that women come in all shapes and sizes and it's good that women on the programme are not all skinny twenty year olds.
Must admit I can't understand how they go on there knowing family friends or work colleagues might be watching.

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 03/09/2017 10:16

An ex of mine is appearing on this next Friday! DH and I will be watching out of sheer curiosity

user1490465531 · 03/09/2017 10:18

We turned onto the programme by accident btw and I was going to turn it over but then I thought it might be educational?

GriswaldFamilyVacation · 03/09/2017 10:20

That show is griM and I'd have cringed in to the feral position watching it with my mother. But if your daughter doesn't mind watching it, that's probably a great thing and shows you've got a more open relationship than many people have with their children. I'd also use it as a talking point about the way men speak about women's bodies and pubic hair (which would probably mean the dd wouldn't want to watch it with me though..)

Not sure how anyone can think watching a tv show with your mother at 16 is grooming though Hmm

MozzchopsThirty · 03/09/2017 10:30

I actually think it's a great programme to promote that all bodies are different but they are all beautiful whether you have small boobs, large nipples, big thighs, wobbly bum, large genitalia etc etc

The people who go on there seem body confident and love their bodies including any 'flaws' perceived by society

I'd watch it with my dcs if they wanted to

And yes fuck off to pp accusing op of grooming HmmHmm WTF

swingofthings · 03/09/2017 10:37

A friend was telling me about this programme and I thought she'd had to be kidding. How utterly distasteful!

You don't need such a pathetic programme to learn to respect all body parts. The reality is that men will continue to be on a whole attracted to certain body parts as will women regardless of such programme. They will also learn that with age, you learn to grow up and not be so shallow.

Migraleve · 03/09/2017 10:44

griswald we are very open, the talk about shaving body hair started before she started shaving her own legs!

swing we didn't take any of it seriously.

Yes backintown !!

MrsJamesAspey · 03/09/2017 17:53

swing but have you actually watched it?

Fluffyunicorns · 03/09/2017 18:31

I was watching this and 18 year old ds came into the room - he left pretty sharpish as found it all too embarrassing to even think of with me in the room!
