I wanted to buy two tickets to an at-home game for West Ham (yes, I know I know lol).
From what I can gather, I need to sign up to be a 'claret member' though to buy them.
I'm wondering can I just sign up myself as a member and buy two tickets or do I need to buy the membership for the second person also?

Also, if anyone can interpret

There is one option for Claret Membership - £42
and another option for Claret (WL offer) Membership - £32

Anyone have a clue what WL means?

You need to refer to it as football.

From their website. If you click on 'buy ticket' it brings you to a link telling you that your membership doesn't entitle you to a ticket and then shows you options for membership.
I'm Irish. Football is gaelic football. Soccer is soccer.

I'm just trying to buy two tickets. Not exactly an unusual task surely. I've never bought match tickets before as I'm not generally a fan. What is general sale? They're either on sale or not, surely?

Yes - one membership will allow you to buy one ticket for that member.

If your partner or child want tickets too you will all need to sign up for membership relevant to them too.

West Ham is a rip off at their membership prices. Many other PL clubs literally have a nominal membership charge to cover the cost of printing the "plastic member card" that the tickets are loaded onto.

Is it West Ham you desperately want to see or any PL team?

By the way please don't use the term soccer in the UK. It's football.

IdoHaveAName · 31/08/2017 17:25

So, soccer isn't soccer? Alridy then.

OP posts:
IdoHaveAName · 31/08/2017 17:26

It is particulary WH I want to see.

The demand for the tickets is so high that they are offered to members first, and even then members that have accumulated a certain number of points based on how many matches they have attended.

As the match gets closer if there are any tickets still available they will open the sale out to members with lower number of points. There is quite a good chance of getting tickets as a member now they play at what was the Olympic Stadium, it will depend upon who the opponents are.

7/10 posts on this thread are now going to be people telling you it's called football. And it is really! Agree with West Ham being a ripoff. We're Arsenal members and need a "red" membership to buy tickets - assuming it's similar. Although unless it's a v big ticket fixture quite easy to buy tickets from touts on gumtree etc.

Allthebestnamesareused · 31/08/2017 17:28

Soccer is what "little girls" in the USA play. Here it is football (but not American Football which is what Americans call football!)

That seems usually complicated. We just used to buy tickets for the game we wanted to see and they were posted to us (different Premiership Team) no need for membership or plastic cards. Have you tried a reselling g site such as StubHub etc it might be an easier way of doing it.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 31/08/2017 17:30

unusually!

IdoHaveAName · 31/08/2017 17:31

OH's birthday late September and WH are playing Tottenham on 23rd of September at home. Thought it would be a good enough match. (I'm aware that WH frequently get hammered haha) so it might not be the best idea. If that's the case it would cost me 84 for membership + cost of two tickets so I may have to strike that idea!

OP posts:
ZaphodBeeblerox · 31/08/2017 17:31

My post was meant to say West Ham prices are a ripoff but no worse than other London clubs. We need a red membership to get tickets via official site as well!

Allthebestnamesareused · 31/08/2017 17:31

Current matches on sale do not have any general sale tickets only member tickets.

Allthebestnamesareused · 31/08/2017 17:33

And as it is the Spurs match I'd say you pretty much would have no chance even if you buy the membership as it will be those with the higher number of matches attended that will be be able to get the tickets earlier.

It is probably one of their top fixtures so unlikely to go to general sale or member with no points.

Allthebestnamesareused · 31/08/2017 17:34

Freudian - I think the Huddersfield match is sold out when you actually click on the link.

I just had a quick search on twitter for you.
Just looked up west ham tickets and got two sites straightaway-this is where ppl not going to a particular match sell theirs.
Would have a quick search for authenticity of seller but we are season ticket holders for a different team but share with BIL so sometimes DH gets tickets this way with great success.
We also sell ours here if can't use.
Think this might get you lucky just don't call it soccer Football

superram · 31/08/2017 17:39

You won't get a ticket for West Ham spurs on general sale-or without any 'points' on your membership. You could try those ticket websites but can't vouch for authenticity. One of their most popular games.
