Apart from these boys being pictured next to (sealed) red bull and champagne I can't really see the problem. They attend school, they work part time with their Grandad in the holidays. They exercise in a martial way to learn to defend themselves (like every middle class kid who does karate or judo). They hunt (like the royal family). They have learnt to drive on their own private property (like the Queen). They cook. Their sisters are in education and doing well.

Thought it was a little interesting as there are a lot of negative threads about travelers on here.

Are you talking about Dale Farm et al? In cases like that, it was because planning permission was infringed. People may own a piece of land, but it will be categorized as farm land and you are not allowed to build on it. If people go ahead and build on it, then that will become a problem and that is what happened with Dale Farm.

I have no idea about this boys' family--I am talking about other incidents. For all I know they have appropriate planning permission and have done their building work with the knowledge and approval of the LA, in which case no problem.

No matter if they buy the land and get permission people still don't want them around and they'll gather the whole neighbourhood to kick up such a fuss and make so many complaints that eventually they have no choice but to move - again! This makes it incredibly hard for many of them to access basic things like health care and education. Every single time a thread comes up like this it's full of stereoypes and ignorance - that is the attitude they deal with every single day of their lives. I wish people would learn more about the history of the Romany and travelling community and learn more about the type of problems they are still facing today, perhaps then they'd be less judgemental.

So it's OK to not pay taxes like the rest of us?
The reason they normally have loads of cash on them is they live rent free,tax free and pay virtually no bills.
And where I live even the police are scared of them so even they tie there horses at the end of a public road or zoom through the woods nearly killing dogs and people no one does fuck all about it.

Yes and the crime spikes when they are in town when i was living at home alot of farm equipment across many farms went missing 1 farmer saw his mini tractor in their camp police didnt want to know so farmers all got together and went in and low and behold all the equipment was there so they took it all back with much shouting from the travellers saying they had rights etc but yes some groups of travellers are horridous and a blight on the rest of the travelling community but sadly the rest of them do NOT fob them in when the wrong uns commit crime so alot of their reputation is well desvired...

Travellers not paying tax is a myth. Most live on authorized encampments and so pay council tax, water, gas, the works. The ones who live on unauthorized encampments don't get any services and so the council lets them off. ALL UK residents have to pay tax on purchases, petrol, road tax etc.
