I've just managed to finish all the the uniform shopping in record time (shame everyone else had the same idea Grin)
Have treated the kids to have coffee and cake
The only place we've bagged to sit is at the long bar which is opposite the baristas station

It's busy in here and a guy has just taken everything off a double table (whilst I was in the loo) and plonked it all over the bar-even shoving stuff in between the DCs plates they are eating off

He continuing doing it when I came to sit down

I politely told him we are still eating
"Well I have nowhere to sit" and he walked off

AIBU if I put the stuff back on his table and put the minging plates and lipstick encrusted napkins that have been plonked on ds's panini on his espresso?

Grin

Have asked the barista who is "too busy and short staffed "

Horribly and completely entitled and rude.

PowerPantsRule · 30/08/2017 14:13

I would demand a free panini - don't pay for another one!!

expatinscotland · 30/08/2017 14:13

I'd put them back on his food. The cafe sounds shit.

Lovemusic33 · 30/08/2017 14:16

That would make me really angry and I would have to say something or I would go and sit down at his table and thank him for clearing you a space.

HotelEuphoria · 30/08/2017 14:16

Nah, he would get the plates right back on his table and a very loud rude comment about why his entitlement to a clean eating space trumps yours.

Creampastry · 30/08/2017 14:22

Putting it in the floor is stupid and a liability. You should have put it on his table.

theymademejoin · 30/08/2017 14:38

I really hope you are not considering paying for a new sandwich?

He was really, really rude but the cafe is also at fault for not clearing the table so they need to either provide you with a replacement sandwich or get him to pay for it (can't imagine them bothering with this). Either way, they need to give you the sandwich and resolve the payment afterwards.

I bet you he wouldn't have been so quick to do it if there had been an adult sitting there.

NormaSmuff · 30/08/2017 14:39

That is just TERRIBLE

ladystarkers · 30/08/2017 14:42

Was at westfield at the weekend. People were literally sitting down at other people's tables or asking them if they have finished when they were still eating. Shock cheeky feckers

RuggerHug · 30/08/2017 14:43

Go over, smile , midway through asking what his problem is SNEEZE OVER HIS FACE AND FOOD!

NormaSmuff · 30/08/2017 14:48

pour your coffee over his head

WhatTheFreshJeff · 30/08/2017 15:29

Put partial plates on floor to get baristas to collect them quickly -and quickly they did (ASAP)

Got the panini to go and they didn't question me asking for a comp one either -
Collected all our plates (about 6) made sure I'd dunked a couple of napkins in spent hot chocolate and duly put everything on his table as we left.

That felt good.

He didn't say a word. Other diners looked horrified.

Excellent WhatTheFresh Grin

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 30/08/2017 15:40

Well done! Good that you asked for a compd replacement

WhatTheFreshJeff · 30/08/2017 15:42

I purposefully missed out the bit where I strode off- no flounced-whilst spectacularly tripping over ds 2 (when he decided to stop randomly -as you do) before I got to the door!

UnicornSparkles1 · 30/08/2017 15:53

Amazing!

I'm sure you styled out the trip, no one will have noticed Grin

CaptainHammer · 30/08/2017 15:58

How rude!
Well done OP for doing the same to him

WhatTheFreshJeff · 30/08/2017 15:59

I'll miss out the bit where the whole side of the cafe is glass and I'm certain everyone saw.

I'd put the stuff back on his table, on top of his food then. I can't believe that anyone would think it ok to put rubbish on a child's (or anyone's) plate while he was eating. And demand a replacement Panini.

Alternatively, put the rubbish ON the cash register, and demand a replacement Panini.

Jaxhog · 30/08/2017 16:13

Missed your response OP. Well done!

PurpleMinionMummy · 30/08/2017 16:36

Good for you. I'd be fuming Grin

WhingyNinja · 30/08/2017 16:39

Cheeky fucker! So pleased you gave him a taste of his own medicine! I laughed at your tripping over DS but am sure you styled it out Wink

SparklyUnicornPoo · 30/08/2017 17:27

Grin well done OP.
