To think you should blow your nose?

Currently sat at my desk browsing Mumsnet and clothes shopping working very hard.

Colleague opposite me is stuffy in the nose department.

Instead of blowing his nose, he keeps doing one or two big sniffs....

... THEN SWALLOWING THE MUCUS!!

I can hear it going down his throat and I actually think I'm going to vomit. Would it BU to punch him in the throat?

But you have to wash your hands after blowing your nose and if you are in desk job getting up to blow your nose and wash hands is annoying and takes up time.

Sniffing is also annoying, better to just be a healthy person.

Blowing nose in public is pretty disgusting, personally I can't do it in front of other people. Apparently this is a common thought in Japanese culture.

BiL used to do this, sniff, sniff, sniff, sniff...
"Do you need a tissue?"
"Oh no, it's a sinus problem."

Yes I'm well fucking aware of that!

Or the colleague that used to suck saliva through her teeth when she was thinking, as if it was all about to spill out on her desk...

I do not understand why people do this - they know it makes a noise, they know you can hear them. It is DISGUSTING. Someone I sat next to once did this and it made me irrationally furious I felt like it was some kind of weird disrespect like he decided to subject me to the 'mouth mucus plug' every. Single. Day. In the end I said something and he didn't do it again.
