To think maternity clothes are rubbish and overpriced?

Or am I looking in the wrong shops?
I'm 6 months and have managed so far on 3 pairs of maternity jeans and have just worn my regular, stretchy clothes as well. I was going to try and wait until the autumn stuff was in the shops but I'm starting to get uncomfortable now.
There is a decent sized shopping centre near me with about 8ish different (all superstore sized) women's clothes shops. Only two of them stock maternity clothes and they are cheap looking and seem much more expensive than other clothing.
I've tried shopping online but not having much luck there either - Asda only do every other size... i.e. 8, 12, 16 (I am a size 10!) And other stuff I have ordered I've had to send back as it fits badly and is cheap!
I've not got a huge budget to blow so I'm trying to be careful what I buy! Has anyone got any tips of where I should be shopping??

Are you sure Asda only do every other size? They were great for maternity basics when I was pregnant. If you refine by size you should be able to find 10s.

I didn't buy too much maternity stuff. One posh black dress for xmas parties, one pair of skinny jeans and a couple of pair of leggings that could be worn with my baggiest jumpers and tops. Luckily I work in a casual environment.

I've just been saying how delighted I am with the maternity clothes items I've caved on. Am 5 months and have bought some H&M maternity jeans, plus a dress and two tops from jojo maman bebe. The absolute joy of having jeans that are comfortable without being saggy and oversized! The clever wrap tops and maternity to nursing tops! I think I'm inbetween sizes as am normally a 12, have bought 14 and they are roomy. But I do not see how my now faintly ridiculous bust is going to fit a size 12. I've gone up 6 cup sizes, there's no way that's fitting in a 12. I'm styling out the rest of it but maternity jeans are ace (and finally, with over the bump jeans no more cold middle problems)

I only ever had one pair of maternity jeans, which just didn't work.
I lived in leggings and floaty tops or dresses, maxi dresses, and stretchy long skirts with large tops. And one pair of lovely black satin-stripe trousers with huge elastic top, which I kept for years, and a maternity tankini.

I found my skin got too sensitive for jeans or shirts, so everything had to be soft and loose. So my bras for maternity and nursing probably cost about as much as the rest of my wardrobe put together!
