As an airborne allergy sufferer myself, it's been kind of worrying over the last few days to see an insistent few insist they don''t exist.
I suffer from one. They really do. I've seen them. Suffered first hand.
If you don't suffer from one, or know someone who has, count yourself lucky.
I have eyes swell up. Doesn't take a leap of imagination to think that throats could too if suffering a more severe reaction.
Difference with me is that I'm not hundreds of miles up in the sky away from medical access. Being in an airport/public place not comparable to being locked in an aeroplane, thousands of miles from land.

I'm not out to cause an argument at all, sorry if it came across that way. All I meant was that I think it's interesting that some people say they don't take allergies seriously because others make them up, (some people being some people in general) or say they have a bad allergy when they don't - as we don't tend to do that so much when it comes to something that physically manifests itself such as a bad back for example.
With allergies it's different as you don't always see an immediate reaction, but that doesn't mean it's any less real.
Hope that makes more sense

4691 Some people just don't think very deeply. They're ignorant. So if their only experience of allergies is an attention seeking phoney, they don't have the wit to consider that general allergy sufferers aren't the same. It's unlikely that they are all psychopaths hoping for a severe reaction.

And I disagree, people like that do it with everyone, not just to those with allergies
