In needing immediate period help?!

Sorry, posting here for traffic.

I'm hosting a huge party (for the first time) and for some reason didn't check the date against the date of my period and I'm due that day!

My periods knock me out. Since I've had ds they've been so bad dh has had to take a day off work for the first day. Dizziness, nausea, throwing up, really heavy bleeding, cramps, sweats. And the bloating! I go up about two sizes. Sad

So now I'm stuck with horrific pmt, sweats, vomiting and have to clean the house and sort the garden.

Help!!

I just started taking evening primrose yesterday (late I know) and always take b complex and magnesium.

Any other brilliant tips to not feel as horrific, calm down and look less like a bloaty heifer? Can't really wear Spanx or similar as I'll be in agony and filled with rage anyway.

I can't cancel as people have booked to travel and places to stay. Fuck fuck fuck.

Ibuprofen is exactly the same as Nurofen (only about a tenth of the price) and is great for periods along with a hot water bottle. Alternate with paracetamol so you're getting pain relief every 2 hours. If you can afford it, can you call an agency and get them to do a clean? If not, have you got a friend who could help out for a bottle of wine?

I admire all the great healthy and useful suggestions here. I must admit, my go to remedy is 2 Ibuprofen, a cup of tea and a bar of Dairy Milk and a two hour nap. Repeat every 4 hours.

and thanks @peachgreen will keep a closer eye on her now i know there is something that can be done apart from put a 13 year old on the pill.

It's just started and I'm almost scared to say it but the 24+ hours of ibuprofen taking seems to have eased it!!! I luff mumsnet!

finder hope you're doing ok in the run up to the party!

Urgh it was bloody awful last night and is the tsunami of all periods today. Ffs. And as the party is largely based around a water activity I'm going to look like I just don't want to get my hair wet.

I know everyone will be all "don't be a killjoy!" and I'll have to just grit my teeth unless I yell "I've got my fucking period!" AngrySad

And blown up like a balloon. And ds has been screaming all morning and I've got a horrible feeling he's coming down with something.
