More problems with neighbours film crew

Not sure this is an AIBU or a what to do but I'm getting really stressed about this so I thought I'd ask.

I posted recently about the security guard for my NDNs film crew being arsey about moving his car when it was blocking my drive and I needed to use it. They did move it eventually but later that night the response was to try and put up some police no parking bollards (not the police though) in the spaces outside our house when they had no parking restrictions in place. We also had the crew set off their burglar alarm and NDN refused to come out and turn it off (they are staying elsewhere in town as it is "too disruptive" for him). Eventually his ex's partner came and turned it off at 11pm.

Since then they've damaged the brick work on our garage without owning up to it. They then "rectified it" by putting the (now broken) brick back with a huge wodge of cement to fill the gap. They also knocked down plants in my garden when maneuvering scaffolding poles. When I complained to my NDN he said not to bother him with it and his ex just tells us to talk to the location manager who is very plesant and says he'll deal with it but doesn't always.

I'm really worried now as they are booked in for another week of filming until 11pm at night the week my dds go back to school and DD1 has some important assessments and big auditions that week. The local council film unit are no help at all. They seem to think it is great that people want to film here.

Any help/ideas?

lb364 sounds perfect although the Ritz also has one and that might be a little easier for the girls' commute. Grin

What happened, OP?

Jux · 24/08/2017 17:14

Good email. I hope it gets you and your dd what you need. Failing that, they could pay for a practise room at the Wigmore or something.

Thanks everyone - just waiting for a reply now...

OP, don't just settle for relocation if that's what they offer - there's compensation for the trouble they've already caused and the disturbance of packing and relocating to the hotel (even the Ritz!) with a piano. They sound numpties - location scouts are usually, I understand, much more professional.

milliemolliemou · 24/08/2017 17:33

Sorry, hotel has piano, not that they're moving yours ....

AlpacaLypse · 26/08/2017 17:07

Have they got round to replying OP?

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 26/08/2017 17:28

Has the ndn got some kind of sob story though that will make you look like a heartless cow if you disrupt the filming? 😂

londonmummy1966 · 31/08/2017 18:45

Thought I'd give an update to thank everyone for their support and advice. I have now heard from the location manager that they will be cutting the time back a bit on some nights and will not be using a rain machine. They have also said they are employing someone to make sure the crew are polite and keep disruption down during the night shoot. They clearly have moved quite a bit in terms of their scheduling so I am very relieved. My faith in the BBC is restored!

Also got some compensation - not the big issue - my concern was always about the nuisance factor but I'm not going to say no!

Good result, when you find out what they're filming let us know so we can look out for your street Smile

Jux · 31/08/2017 23:36

Good. Hope it allgoes well.

Pancakeflipper · 31/08/2017 23:54

Good to hear update but you should have pushed for ibs364 suggestion.
Hope there's no more hassles.

timeisnotaline · 01/09/2017 00:22

And don't forget to tell neighbor that it was a very inconsiderate film crew and lack of communication from them. And say no to any requests for music tutelage. They can pay for some elsewhere.

Thank you everyone - I'd never have had the confidence to stick up for myself without the Mumsnet chorus to support me. I did mention the suite at Claridges when they came to see me in the week - but I then had to explain to them that it was a joke. Hmm
