To think costs of hiring bedlinen at Eurocamp are extortionate?

We are staying at a Eurocamp site in Holland for 2 nights next year. Unfortunately it doesn't look as though we will have space in the car to pack our own bedlinen in, so will need to hire it on site.

I looked online to get an idea of the cost and was shocked to see it is £22.50 per double bed, £16.50 per single. That seems a huge amount of money, and from what the wording suggested I think you have to make the beds up yourself, they don't even make them up for you at that price!

I remember staying in the Netherlands before and the pillowcases in particular were a different shape from UK ones, more square shaped, so our own probably wouldn't fit even if we managed to fit them in ☹️.

Yep, we stayed at one in Brittany in July and I bought it all from Argos value range to take with us.

aquashiv · 20/08/2017 19:55

We take our own. Yes its steep.

Summergarden · 20/08/2017 19:55

Did it fit the beds ok Lauguna? I'm not confident it would in Holland...

Do you pack in your spare wheel space?? It's revolutionised my packing and I laid our sheets spread out on top before replacing the liner.

Tonnes of extra space.

Grimbles · 20/08/2017 19:58

By bed linen do you just mean sheets and pillow cases?

MunchMunch · 20/08/2017 19:58

Flat sheets rather than fitted and I'd make sure I could squeeze our quilts in for that price!

Belindaboom · 20/08/2017 20:00

We took small sleeping bags - for 2 nights they'd be fine and can be squished anywhere

lalaloopyhead · 20/08/2017 20:00

We found it cheaper to buy cheap sets, vacuum pack them and then throw them before coming home - to make room for wine!

Summergarden · 20/08/2017 20:00

Yes, it's just bed sheet, duvet cover and pillow cases we need to bring (and a bath towel). The duvet and pillows themselves are provided.

I used to take quilts, lay them across the rear car seat and the children sat on them, very comfy and much better when camping! Pillows too-my children travelled in padded luxury!

MiniCooperLover · 20/08/2017 20:02

Def take your own! We even manage to squeeze in duvets and pillows and only have a Focus 👍

Summergarden · 20/08/2017 20:02

Love all the ideas coming, thanks!

Is it disproportionately expensive as you are only staying 2 nights, but being charged the rate for however long you stay?

GraceGrape · 20/08/2017 20:04

Could you get one of those vacuum storage bags and pack stuff in that to save space? That price is really expensive. We stay in cites in France and it costs 8 euros per bed and I am too cheap to even pay that

Christmastree43 · 20/08/2017 20:05

They're British caravans more or less so pillows etc are our sizes - although it has been about five years since we did eurocamp.

GraceGrape · 20/08/2017 20:05

Cites, not cites

GraceGrape · 20/08/2017 20:06

Aaargh gites

JanuaryJuniper · 20/08/2017 20:09

If it's Duinrell we stayed there in June this year and brought our own bed linen and yes it fitted fine. Though their pillows are so thin you might as well be laying down on nothing!!

Summergarden · 20/08/2017 20:32

I'm honestly not sure if it's disproportionately expensive due to us not staying a full week, but it seemed that these were standard linen prices per stay.

It's not Duinrell site that we are staying at (Beekse Bergen) but good to know it was UK sizes at Duinrell.

I'll go through all of your ingenious suggestions with DH and should be able to manage it somehow. Thanks to all you clever MNers!
