I have rather a large head, struggle to find a hat that fits etc. So find the idea absurd. As a child surely my head would be dragging on the floor?!

My 7yo and I have shared bike helmets for at least a year.. (I have a tiny head and wear children's glasses, though)

One of my dgc's heads (3yrs old) is 2cm larger than mine, I do have quite a small head though judging by other family members.

I'd never heard of this before so just got up and measured all our heads DS4's head is an inch smaller than mine, and DD2's head is half an inch smaller again. I'd never have thought there was so little in it!

Both my DS were in adult S helmets at age 5, I'm an adult XS and in some XXS. They are all XL now including DH. They had large heads at birth too

It's why they are always falling over and out of things like boats or windows. They are so top heavy.
(My doctor said this when we went in with a head bump caused by toppling off a log)

If this is the case then why aren't shops simply selling "Hats" and "Baby Hats" ??

All this "age 6-9" on hats is rubbish!

Dd (13) ds1(11) and ds2 (7) all wear the same sized cycle helmet because the circumference of their heads is almost exactly the same. The boys had normal looking sized heads as toddlers dd did have a rather gargantuan cranium though.
But dd's face, jaw and cheekbones are noticeably wider and larger than both her brothers as they have continued growing. I have a pea head it looks ridiculous in badly angled photos.
