To call this man aggressive in the car park?

I just pulled out of my space in the supermarket car park. Driving slowly round to get out when someone started to reverse out quite quick without showing signs of stopping. I beeped my horn quick to let them know I was there.

I drive off round the car park. He then drove quickly up behind me flashing and beeping at me.

I know. At this point I should have ignored. If my dd had been in the car I would have.

Instead I stopped my car got out and as he did and I asked him why he was flashing and beeping his horn. He said because I had beeped at him. I said I did that to warn him I was there. He said he has reverse parking sensors and would have stopped. (He was shouting) I said I didn't know that and thought the function of a horn was to warn people. He was still shouting at me so I told him he was being aggressive and there was no need for it.

Another woman and her son came up and called him a stupid man.

Was I being unreasonable to hoot at him or call him aggressive?

Oops that was a long post about something trivial. Maybe I am an idiot after all BlushGrinWink

It depends how you used the horn. Amazing how you can pass different messages with that little device! Had some facial expressions and it can go from gentle warning to aggressive accusation.

What the fuck Mumteedum???!!! What an utter cunt. I am speechless.

Fuck sake Mumteedum that would have sent me over the edge. I don't think it's trivial at all!

I bet I can make you smile Smile

2 weeks ago I was patiently waiting whilst an elderly woman did a 60 point turn out of a space. I waited, with indicator flashing, as she moved away then an imbecile man shot into the space like a rocket, stealing my space. He was so fast and excited that he misjudged it and took his wing mirror off on the wall 😂🤣😂

It was brilliant, just amazing. So so funny. He then did that 'starring straight ahead with a bright red face' thing men do when they fuck up in the car. Amazing.

Ahhhh what a day 🤗

I got told to turn off my engine as I pulled up outside the local pool to collect dd.
"She's here now" I pointed out, "there's no point turning off the engine"
Queue a rant about "women like you"
I asked him if he would be saying all this to me if I was a man.
He carried on ranting as dd got into the car and I started to drive off telling him to shut up.
Stuck fir words he managed to shout "FATTY" at me as I drove away.
Causing dd and I to shriek with laughter which must have driven him bonkers!

You were quite right to toot the horn. In the situation you described it was completely appropriate. Just be careful about engaging / escalating with people who are being confrontational and potentially aggressive. You only need to run into a nutter once to suffer life-changing consequences and you're not going to change the attitude of a horn-pumping, light-flashing prick by giving him a piece of your mind. As hard as it can be sometimes, the best way to deal with twats is just to give them a wide berth.
