To think Kay Burley reporting on 'groping' is BU?

Just watching Sky News about Taylor Swift winning her lawsuit against a radio DJ who groped her. Kay Burley asked "surely women have a responsibility to look after themselves and protect themselves?" and mentioned a case of an airline worker who had reportedly "led on" a pilot who was later accused of groping her, saying she shouldn't have led him on if she didn't want to be groped.

Is it Unreasonable to hope that any articulate, educated woman with a voice worth her salt shouldn't be making comments along those lines because they potentially normalise and downplay sexual assault, which surely will lead to fewer reports and prosecutions? And is it also U to think that a woman can flirt with a man (or a man with a woman, or whoever with whoever) but once they're finished flirting that the other party has no 'right' to continue any form of touching, flirting or engagement?

She reminds me of a robot that's getting the news feed from HQ. The words don't match her face, the before and after version.

AndToday I think you misunderstood what AF was trying to say.

Kay Burley clearly hates women, she is a fine example of a woman hating on other women.

And I agree it is worse coming from a women. Given that as women we are all statistically at higher risk of sexual assault, it's galling to be told by someone who is supposed to 'get it' that you didn't do enough to prevent being assaulted. Like she thinks it will never happen to her because she is so perfect at everything.

Amanduh · 15/08/2017 19:43

Burley is a massive twat

PollyFlint · 15/08/2017 19:51

Just the very existence of Kay Burley is unreasonable, frankly

PollyFlint · 15/08/2017 19:57

NachoFries, it was Channel 4's Cathy Newman who said she'd been kicked out of a mosque when she hadn't, although she did subsequently apologise and said it was 'a misunderstanding'. sceptical face

Obviously that doesn't change the fact that Kay Burley is a complete twat though. Let's not forget that her reaction to the Paris terrorist attacks was to post a picture of a bored Labrador which she captioned 'Sadness in his eyes'...

SonicBoomBoom · 15/08/2017 19:58

It's Kay Burley, you shouldn't expect anything more from her.

OlennasWimple · 15/08/2017 20:00

Kay burley is a victim-blaming misogynist Angry

wotabastard · 15/08/2017 20:32

Bloody hell I knew she was bad but...Shock

SleightOfHand · 15/08/2017 20:52

That's shocking. She hates herself, to be pitied really.

Thanks for clarifying that. It makes a LOT more sense! To be fair to me I did say I wasn't sure what AF meant Blush

I agree that KB appears to hate women except for herself of course. I think she thinks she is the dogs bollocks.

I just can't get over how she treated those poor women who she had just told April Jones had died. Her behaviour is cruel.

SleightOfHand · 15/08/2017 21:37

I'd say she thinks she's the dogs bollocks on the surface but in her darkest moments it'll be sadness, someone cruel and unfeeling isn't a content and happy person.

AnyFucker · 15/08/2017 21:43

AndToday but she is not a man, so I don't see your point

Unless you mean "men do it too" with which I concur

AndTodayIAm · 15/08/2017 21:57
