Can I ask the childminder to take ds tomorrow

Ds is 1. Got a call from childminder this morning saying that he has been sick in the cot during nap and asked me to collect him (she didn't see how he sick but the mess when she picked him after he woke up). So DH left work and collected him. After ds was collected he looked perfectly fine: smiley, happy, active , no temperature, no loose poo.

I know there is guidance saying CM should not take child if they have been sick in the past 48 hours. But ds just looks so well. Can I ask the CM to have him tomorrow?

Not really, as he could pass on a virus to other mindees or the CM's DC.

What is her policy on vomiting and diorrhoea?

What do you think caused the vomiting?

NerrSnerr · 14/08/2017 16:49

She'll have a policy, it's usually 48 hours.

dementedpixie · 14/08/2017 16:49

You can ask her but don't be surprised if she says no

Gorgosparta · 14/08/2017 16:50

Depends on what her policy is.

Even If there is a small chance he was ill and passed it onto other kids, their parents would not be happy.

Would you be?

Groovee · 14/08/2017 16:51

I would check what her policy is.

PineappleBun · 14/08/2017 16:55

No one idea what's the cause of the 'vomit' or whether it's just reflex. As he's absolutely fine yesterday and this afternoon.

Does he have reflux?

CMs' judgment on cause is usually good IME. For example one of our DC was often sick due to gagging on food and the one time she was sick during a meal due to a virus our CM at the time reckoned it was different, we kept her home and she did have a virus.

Well you can ring and ask her policy. Yanbu to do that.

She can only say yes or no!
