Promise im not bragging/gloating.
Long story short, I have a 3 month old dd and this last week she has slept through the night.
She is up all day through I mean from half 7 in the morning until 6 at night. With maybe a 15min cat nap if we pop out but that is it.
Now the aibu is I don't know if this is too long to go without a bottle so I suggested waking her and giving her one before we go sleep then dh went through the saying never wake a sleeping baby.
With our other dd she woke every 3hrs until she was 8months, so maybe I'm just not used to having a good sleeper.
So wwud give a bottle or let her stay asleep?
When did yours start sleeping through?
I realize even writing this it sounds ridiculous because isn't this every parents dream a full night sleep?
I did have really traumatic birth and dh thinks now everything is ok I'm just looking for something to worry bout.
Thanks

cheeky what you said about your third terrifies me! I have a feeling all my 'friends' Grin are wishing me a waking 4 year old for the third as most of them didn't sleep down about 3 years!Grin

Both mine slept through from 6 weeks. I didn't do anything it was just luck.

DS - 4 months but then started waking most nights between 15 months-3 years...

Dd1 - 9 months. Is now 5 and has always been a good sleeper since then..

Dd2 - 10 months but started waking up at 27 months and still does 50% of the time...she turns 3 in October...

Mine were all old/big enough to not have to even consider waking them in the night.

If the baby is putting on weight and getting enough feeds during their waking hours then I'd just leave it...

My ds is 10 months, he seemed to sleep through from an early age, I figured he would wake if he was hungry. Like your little one he did not like day time naps. I tried putting him down etc but it was a waste of time, we found he coped on catnaps in the car, naps in the sling. Now he moves a lot so he does nap more. I couldn't put him down for a nap but I can see when he's tired so I just feed him or walk him in pram/sling. My partner and I figured we liked sleeping at night so just went with it.

Same as you OP, about 3 months she started sleeping through, a couple of nights we tried her with a bottle when we went to bed and she refused it so we gave up. Just lucky

6 weeks. I don't tell people either as they tend to hate me!

She definitely fed extra during the day to compensate though and has always been on the 98th percentile for weight and height since birth, which I do think makes a difference.

DisneyMillie · 14/08/2017 16:56

From 5 months and she's been almost 100% through the night since then (now 15 months). She's never been a big day sleeper either so I wouldn't worry too much about that - 30-60 mins a day max for as long as I can remember.

From 10 weeks and he was breastfed. He was a total bruiser though at that age, so I wasn't worried about him getting enough.

Then sleep regression kicked in at about 5 months and hit us like a tonne of bricks. We then had a hard time of it until we sleep trained at nine months.

When my oldest was born in 1993, three months was regarded as the age when most babies started to sleep through.
Nowadays it seems to be anything goes and nothing seems to ge done to encourage baby to sleep through.
Leave the baby to sleep, obviously!
