I live in Greater Manchester. Since the awful arena attack in May, many people in the area have put Manchester bee stickers on the back of their cars, which often include the date of the attack.
I feel a bit weird about these stickers anyway; I don't need to be reminded every time I get in my car about the horrors of that night and in a way I think it helps the terrorists by keeping the events in everyone's memories. I can't imagine how I would feel if I was actually at the Arena that night or knew someone that was. But I suppose the intention is a good one, they are trying to show support and solidarity for the victims at a difficult time.
What I do not understand is the amount of people I see with these stickers cutting me up, overtaking in a dangerous place, speeding etc.
There are still 9 people in hospital. There have been 22 funerals. Thousands were there on the night, and hundreds more were involved in helping. People directly effected by that night must be everywhere. People trying to deal with what they saw, heard, felt. What happened to their friends and loved ones. Surely the last thing these people need when going about their daily business is some arsehole nearly causing an accident in front of them with one of these stickers? If you choose to have one, surely you should drive in a curteous, safe and legal manner, or you are potentially causing even more upset?
